Ravish - Hero of JNDSD
Ravish wisdom lies in his phlegmatic approach to everything in life. Yet he is not wholly emotionally isolated. He belongs to no one but he is related to everyone. Ravish internalises his solitariness into his biggest insurmountable strength. Circumstances may shake it but will never be able to crush it. This strength of Ravish is the defining power of JNDSD.
Ravish reads events as a whole rather than individual situations which help him reach pragmatic decisions. He absorbs everyone's point of view yet never ignores the physical visual indicators. All the characters keep swinging like a pendulum due to their own emotional upheavals or due to others emotional demands. Ultimately they all depend upon n look up to Ravish to take the final collective decision. But Ravish has never ever looked upon anyone for anything neither does he have any expectations from others. Since his arrival he's clearing others mess!!
Ravish is nobody's husband yet he has a wife, he is nobody's father yet he has a child, he's nobody's son yet he has a mother (Suman has constantly maintained that she has given her son in the service of the nation, so her claims on him is second to the country) both his siblings depend upon him yet he has never staked claim on their affections. The entire set of characters is thriving under his patronage n protection. He shall remain the common thread binding all relations in future also.
All these events have increased his solitariness which he has internalised into an un-crushable power. Yes, Ravish is fully aware of his strength that's why he keeps it under tight control and gives a rare occasional tiny glimpse of it only when it is an absolute necessity. This control over his strength gives him the edge of power over everyone else.
Ravish is an independent entity so the day he voluntarily exercises his power it will be wholly n totally his own stage. He never pre-empts time so he shall wait for the event to unfold on its own. His fight shall be for others wellbeing n profit since he is the ultimate protector. Never for himself.
Ravish is the resilient stoic mountain of JNDSD which will lay new foundations.
Will Ravish solitariness ever end? Yes, I have full belief in that. This new age Vishwamitra will get his own maneka by the onset of monsoons.
Shashank portrays Ravish beautifully. If in real life it's always easier to express aggressiveness than to hide it, same ought to hold for screen. Ravish is not an emotionally expressive character. So it must be a constant struggle for shasha to decide what percentage of ravish emotions to show on screen since it is a visual media which thrives on over expressive characters. Shasha aces it always n in all circumstances.
