I think this Mahesh Bhatt show is loosely based on his directorial debut movie Zakhm ( 1999 ). Basic plot premise is about illegitimate child in both the movie and the tv show. In Movie, Male Lead's mom doesn't accept Female Lead and her sons coz she is of a different caste ie she is a Muslim and not suitable for her Hindu family.
