Let me first say my rating should not being seen as recommendation. Everyone has different expectation levels so some might find the movie less or more worthy in the end. So take it is as my view. In general if I have time I can even watch bad movies in theater and when I cannot I have missed movies of SRK as well.
I wont give spoilers.
Overall this movie is about marriage, dowry and such social issues as role of girls in rural setting. I wont give any story further. There are NO major characters except Varun and Alia and the great thing was I never felt the need of any such character. This is a hallmark of good movie. All the characters played their role extremely well and will get more roles in future. The sidekick Hippo was good comedian..father etc all did well. Thumbs up to them.
Girls will love this movie .. I think it will be superhit among them. lol. Since it deals with subject of marriage and job and complexities around that. Old people might not agree with some parts but overall next generation will love it and the message overall is totally right.
Though film is Alia oriented as she is the dominant figure but I must say Varun has done a great job. It is his movie in terms of performance. He is doing less of Govinda/Salman style and came out as different funny and he can act. Among the new lot Hippo is finding him as a great entertaining option..if he makes such movies I will watch him in cinema. So I loved his performance as he showed so many emotions in the movie
Songs are superb...all are party type light hearted and man that song Hamsafar was the star for me. It sounded so well. Best song of the year so far.
My rating standard is such that I gave Dangal 4/5 so I dont give high scores.
Here I will give it 3.5 / 5
I go above 4 almost never...cut .5 mark because at some point I thought Alia's actions could have been supplemented with more events. Film does loses its track between half way to 75% way. You will understand once you watch it.
