Maya is fake from childhood?

Going back and analysing Maya from what is being shown for the last three or four days.

Maybe child Maya did not like Ashwin. So she must have made up all those stories while she hurt herself in the process. Drowning in the bath tub, pouring paint on herself so that her mother will leave Ashwin and she can happily live with her mother getting all her undivided love and attention.

And Maya was happy that Saanjh is leaving though she pretended something else.

no Ashwin used to beat her up and her mom both. He used to lock her up. She isn't fake from childhood.

If Ashwin was a good person and Maya made all those up then why will she be scared of Ashwin everytime she saw him?

Maybe he retaliated after watching how Maya is behaving with him. As for her fear, it looks fake.

No her fear didn't seem fake to me. How would you explain the beating of jhanvi then? Y did Ashwin beat her up too?

I am trying to get the picture by the clues provided.

Maya is not afraid of hurting herself if it serves her purpose.
Maya is possessive of her mother and now Arjun.
Ashwin who came between her and her mother and stubbornly refused to go away.
Arjun's family and Saanjh who are coming between her and Arjun.
She said her tareeka. It must have been there even when she was a child.

I don't believe Maya is faking what happened in her childhood. I think Ashwin did abuse her and her Mother. Most of Maya's problems stem from that period of abuse she sustained. The narrative did state that Ashwin was after Jhanvi's money and when Maya was born he was not happy because her grandfather willed all his money to Maya. (Because he didn't want Ashwin to get any of his money. He knew he married his daughter for the money). Ashwin always hated Maya for this reason.

Jhanvi was weak and she was never able to fully let go of Ashwin due her attachement to him. Even when she knew he was cheating her and he was abusive. He always managed to fool her with his love talk. Maya hated him and he always went out of his way to intimidate her when they came face to face. She had so much security to prevent him from coming to the office etc. So all that was real for sure. But Maya DID do something to him which finally drove him out and this was on her 9th Birthday. The whole story of which we still don't know.

I think whatever this "Truth" is it will form the crux of the story going forward, especially if Maya finds out or suspects that Arjun married her for money. History repeating itself. What happened to her Mom is happening to her. A greedy man is after her money. But unlike her Mom she won't be his fool she will ruin him, and in such a way that he won't know what hit him. He has NO idea who he has got involved with. Arjun is going to learn his lesson in a very hard way. If he married Maya for money then he totally deserves it! Him and his Panda Mom both do! Lol
