Saif Ali Khan: Kareena was skeptical of releasing Taimur's pic but I don't believe in 'nazar lagna'
Saif Ali Khan in an interview to a leading daily reveals that wife Kareena Kapoor Khan was skeptical of releasing Taimur's picture fearing evil eye.
Saif Ali Khan became the talk of the town recently after the actor named his newborn Taimur Ali Khan. Wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif later went on record to clarify that the duo loved the name Taimur and did not mean to offend anyone at all.
"My wife and I love the sound of it and we love its meaning. I am aware of the heritage of the Turkish ruler"he was Timur, my son is Taimur, an ancient Persian name that means iron. Perhaps, I should have added a disclaimer, as they do in the movies, that any resemblance to any person, living or dead, is purely coincidental," Saif had said earlier.
The couple tried to shield their newborn from the shutterbugs, however, Taimur's picture went viral after Saif inadvertently kept it as his Whatsapp display image.
Speaking to a leading daily, Saif revealed that Kareena was skeptical about releasing Taimur's picture, however, he didn't believe in all of that. "Yes, she [Kareena] was like, Nazar lag jayegi' and all of that'. But agar nazar lagni hoti toh Kareena would be in the hospital by now. I don't believe in all of that. I didn't mean to share it. It was my WhatsApp display picture. But it is fine. I don't plan to hide him. We will have a tough time figuring out how to bring him up. I think Taimur is already a bit of a popular chap. So, I think we will have to teach him to be grounded, as people will watch whatever he does."
When asked how has this addition of a new member to the family changed him and his equation with wifey Kareena, he said, "I miss home more now. I don't feel happy about shooting from 9am to 9pm every day. I miss Taimur when I'm away. In our (Kareena and his) relationship, we feel good that we have brought someone into the world together, someone who is half hers and half mine. I think we were ready for that. We have had lots of fun by ourselves. Now, it's time to share a little responsibility and take things to another level."
