I am humbled by all the posts here ... Each one of these posts are so worthy of a separate post by its own, so it's a great honour for me to host your opinions in my thread. Loved reading each and everyone of your opinions.

Where do they stand now?
Shivaay:
He refuses to put a name to their relationship, yet he claims almost all the rights of a husband: Loyalty, Fidelity, Acceptance, Authority, Trust, Security and Affection. He withholds Commitment and Respect, and well, the marriage bed. They are as platonic as two best friends with all the comforts.
He can't do without her. He won't let her leave. He can't bear to see her sad. He promises to fight her battles, yet he won't share that last piece of himself that will bind himself to her for always.
His future. That's another thing he cannot give her. Perhaps he wants to see where they are at the end of 6 months or for that time when Annika asks him "Let me GO. I want to leave.."
I am loving the changes in him. He loves her, that is for sure. But I have a little confusion as to the reason he doesn't just commit and become her husband.
It can't be only NKK.
Perhaps he does not know of how Annika feels? She hasn't revealed anything to him. He still feels guilty for breaking her spirit and forcing her into marriage. To make up for it he has to be ready for the possibility that she might leave.
Perhaps he is not ready for that. Him not signing divorce papers are evidence of that. Could it be that if he were to let her go, she might not come back, and he doesn't want to even imagine that. So he keeps her in limbo.
Imagine: Shivaay has taken Annika as a prisoner into his house. Kept her to himself, his companion , his friend, his own. But he keeps her away from everything else, his secret. [Totally sounding like Beauty and the Beast, here no?] He thinks she will be happy just being there with him, asking nothing of him. What will he do, if she asks to leave?
Everything is so complicated Annika. There is no easy way to explain all this..
I bet, if she says "I Loved you. But i shouldn't have..." all the words would come tumbling out?
Annika :
She was forced into this marriage under threat. He last used this threat flippantly to get her to come for the Lohri function. Sahil. For this little boy, she will face any humiliation and difficulty. Now he is at a good school, because of Shivaay.
Everytime she tries to leave, she finds him standing there, needing her. Yet, when push comes to shove, he abandons her for the more important thing. Family.
She is never the important thing. Which is why its darned confounding when he says, "You are very important to me..." Just words?
But its not. He defends her fierily before his family. He trusts her a tad more than he does anyone else, which is still not saying much. He is fast becoming an example of strength and how not to break down in the face of adversity. Shivaay is Strength.
But she has no rights to hold this strength to her. It is always he who holds her, when and where he wants to. He kisses her, he flirts with her. He pushes her away also. She has not been given the right to claim anything on to him.
Does she do anything for him, but obey? That's because he hasn't allowed her to. Whatever she has insisted with ziddi, he either comes around or stone walls her. He never invites.
When she goes near, he is so flustered by her proximity ! I would love to see him blush for a change, being so fair and all..đ But I dunno in the scheme of things, if it will happen.
