Do you prefer the word 'actress' or just ACTORS

Sometimes it is confusing.

When people say ACTORS. Today it can be in reference to either a male or female.

Some people say 'Actor' some think you are speaking about males. If you are speaking of females it should be actress like it has in the past.

Is the word actress being phased out?

Maybe...? The word 'actor' was originally gender-neutral.

I don't mind using female actor or actress, it depends on what comes to my mind first or what looks nice in a sentence.. Like -- "...a congregation of female and male actors.." instead of "..a congregation of actors and actresses" .

I do see that the word 'actress' and it's usage is phasing out, but phasing out of a word happens over a long period of time, so no worries as for now :p

..It can be used as per convenience, although I do feel 'actor' as a word is more correct, sounds better for some unknown reason, but both actor and actress are correct, atleast now.
