Quite an impressive post 👍🏼 sadly can't say that about the episode...maha episode is such a blah...😡🤢

Today Sony team sealed it for me they are selling the show on Jenny's popularity...after outrageous wedding promotion, endless tweets, promos all I get to see is Duffer dusky drama🥱 Obsessive Maya is exciting to watch, the character is author backed & Jennifer brings it alive on screen with such a finesse u'd feel for Maya, wish I could say that for Saanh. Today instead of BFF who is hopelessly in love she looked quite desperate on her part, blame on mindless writing. Even normal people won't mouth such dialogues or confess openely at wedding mandap she is supposed to be a selfless lover😲

excellent post. 👏👏
i too wondered abt y der was no blood on ashwin.. 😕😕
I guess wen d new char enters ( d cop) we ll get2 know d reason behind ashwin's death ( stabbin or shootin)..

& yes, instead of runnin 2 d mandap, he shud hav went to d hosp.. 😆😆 or atleast texted sm1 abt whoz d killer ( or atleast wrote a cliche type letter abt d killer )😆😆

if dat was jhanvi, she'd hav confessed i guess. she wont let arjun take d blame since she knows maya's life depends on arjun & his well bein. & she was cryin over ashwin's body in d precap. if she really kild him, she wudnt do dat much nautanki i guess..

bt y in d wrld did ashwin point2 maya/ jhanvi?😕😕 so d murder is smhow related to dem ryt? so confusing.. 😕😕

Actually Saanjh being the killer is a completely plausible theary and can be explained in a very convincing manner. The only issue is that she is going to be the lawyer defending Arjun, so that's her role in this story. And most probably her investigation and case will finally reveal Maya's past. So will they also make her the murderer now?

Maya was seen with a knife & Jhanvi had a gun. Arjun was not seen with a weapon but he did wash blood from his hands . Ashwin's wound was not clear like u said ..was he stabbed or shot ? & yeah the person who had done the deed is not an expert cuz he was half dead when he/she left him. Going to the hospital instead of coming to the marriage venue might even have saved Ashwin ! 😆
Ashwin pointed at 3 people Maya jhanvi & Arjun .. & this thought did run across my mind too .. like was there anyone standing behind them ? Jhanvi was standing behind Arjun & Maya .. but was there anyone behind her ?
If Maya is to be the killer by now she should be an expert in this department since any murder or person who dies & Maya is assumed to be the culprit be it her nanu or that Mauritius wala pandit. So her doing such an amateurish job doesnt fit the bill.
Also I dont understand if in the end they would show Maya murdering them all . ..then y create such an amout of suspense .. cuz she's the first suspect that comes to everyone's mind .

Also from what I gathered from this episode that Maya might die in the end .. the 7th vachan hinted that .. if that happens I will be highly disappointed

Yeah my issue with the Maya is the killer theory is that there is nothing remotely surprising about that. Maya's expressions and dialogues, Ashwin pointing at her etc hint towards her being the killer which is why I really don't think she is. I mean are they going to make it that obvious??? 😕

The only way I think that will be true is if we are all mistaken about the story bring a whodunit. Probably they are not trying to create a mystery about who the killer is but rather the mystery is going to be about how Saanjh and the cops prove she is the killer and reveal her past and how Maya uses her manipulative skills to make sure they don't find the truth, maybe in the process commiting more crimes.

Great post Shruti ! As much as I want to watch the maha episode for the styling and performances, the script especially the fact that the hyped wedding sequence was completely overshadowed by Saanjh's overall presence, has kept me away from it.. I would have loved to see the murder drama but all that bit which was major chunk of the episode where Saanjh confesses, sings and Arjun consoles her leaving his bride at the mandap, didn't go down well.. atleast with me.. they could have done that before the wedding.. or toned it down a bit.. if this sort of a thing is done in future, can we really blame Maya of being obsessive and mad? I mean who wouldn't loose his/her head if you see your spouse be all over his/her bestie.. that part was bullshit for me.. sorry..
About the murder, they must show that the body is sent for post-mortem so we know exactly how he was killed.. the murder weapon.. if I am not mistaken, was Ashwin wearing a complete black outfit as I remember from the promos when he drops on the havan kund? maybe that's why the blood wasn't clearly visible? and how did he fall from the top..? not sure coz I did not watch the actual episode.. The three prime suspects Arjun, Maya and Jhanvi, like you said don't look like they have actually done the murder.. why did police arrest Arjun? What evidence they have against him? CCTV cameras if any might have captured footage which could have gone against him.. I know Maya had a knife and Jhanvi had a gun.. what about Arjun? Could he have just beaten Ashwin to death? doesn't sound very convincing.. also like you pointed out, the murderer probably did not intend to kill him but had a scuffle.. or accidently hit him with sharp object so Ashwin had enough life in him to come up to the wedding venue and then die.. Just for the reason that Prem was absent and the way he left the baraat seemed a little off, makes me think if he could have somehow killed Ashwin.. more than upset he has appeared angry during the pre-wedding ceremonies.. like he is angry with Arjun and feels that somewhere he is responsible for his daughter's misery.. maybe he left an evidence at murder site to frame Arjun.. but then who could Ashwin be pointing at since Prem wasn't present.. or maybe that was Ashwin's last attempt to ruin it for Maya and blame her..

P.S- I read in the forum that Vandana got into a car accident .. and the other party got injured or died on the spot.. could that be related to this murder at all? why was that shown if not linked to the main story?

So I saw the "Maha" episode and must say I was'nt that impressed by it...It had its moments but overall I felt it was not that well written or executed...

Anyway there were a few interesting things that I observed in the episode:

1. Why was there no blood on Ashwin??? How did he die?? Arjun, Maya and Jhanvi were shown washing blood off their hands yet when Ashwin showed up as far as I could see he was not bleeding. If he had been shot or stabbed should'nt he have had blood on his clothes??? Is that bad editing or a clue that it was not one of them??
Also whoever tried to kill Ashwin did a pretty bad job because they left him alive...That looks like the work of someone who either did it unintentionally or half-heartedly and panicked and ran from there before confirming that he was dead. Does not look like a planned murder.

Makes sense. Ashwin could have been poisoned, may be? Or who ever the killer is might have used a method that makes him die a slow death. Also, reduces the possibilities of how guessing how he might have died since there seems to be no injuries. We didn't get to see Ashwin's body from all possible angles though, considering if there is a gun shot or a stab wound somewhere. Will know better in the next episode.

2. Ashwin came in and pointed in the direction of Maya, Jhanvi and Arjun once again trying to cement the fact that one of them is the culprit...The fact that the show is repeatedly trying to say that one of them killed him makes me think its neither of them. Who was standing behind them??? Arjun and Maya were blocking the people standing behind, with only Jhanvi being visible in between them. Was Ashwin trying to point towards someone standing behind Maya/Jhanvi???.

3. Since Arjun is the first person to be accused of the murder I am pretty sure he is not the culprit. This leaves Maya and Jhanvi...Maya has the strongest motivation and desire to kill him while Jhanvi is the only one we know who had the opportunity and motive to kill him.
If it's Jhanvi - Ashwin din't look like he had been shot so not likely that she shot him. So then did they get into a struggle and she hit him with something making him unconscious? Did she assume he died and run away from there??? She looks like someone who would have panicked in such a situation and run away from there.

If it's Maya - Maya had a knife in her hand but Ashwin din't look like he had been stabbed. Also, with all those people outside how did Maya get a chance to leave the place and go to Ashwin's house?? Another point is that Maya REALLY WANTED TO KILL Ashwin...So had she actually got the opportunity to kill him I think she would have made sure that he was dead before she left the place..The fact that he survived makes me think whoever killed him did it half-heartedly.

So that leaves someone else, and I strongly feel the murderer will be a 4th person.

2 & 3 : Yeah, agreed. Something I have time and again said in my posts too. While reading this, it just occurred to me that may be, just may be, Ashwin came there to tell something to Maya/Jhanvi/Arjun instead. That he died because he got some information and he probably wanted to tell them. Not out of the goodness of his heart but may be dire need? He could very well have a change of heart in the last moment as well. Because he didn't quite look he's angry or pained..that look was really ambiguous. Not the kind of look at screams 'he or she killed me'.

4. The very ominous 7th vachan about Maya loving Arjun till her last breath makes me think she will die in the end...Whatever problems they will face Arjun will not leave her till the end (because of his first 6 vachans) but in the end she will die loving him and he will live on...Saanjh's words about love not being about the lovers dying together but about letting yourself die so that your lover can live, will come true. Maya will die in the end either for Arjun or while saving his life thereby setting Arjun free.

I thought I was the only one with this thought which is why immediately dismissed it. I think it'd make for a great end, you know? Like how people in love, for love (no matter a negative or a positive character) go out in the end for the greater good? That'd truly make Maya be remembered and in a way will redeem her of all the bad she's done. I'll cry buckets if this happens but I'll take that because it makes for good story telling.

5. Saanjh will always be a part of Arjun and Maya's relation, this was symbolized heavily today. Arjun will not break his relation with Maya (gathbandhan did not break, he just set it aside) but will at some point chose Saanjh over her, which will give rise to the psycho obsessive Maya.

I think slightly different on this bit but not enough to say disagreed.

The show is pretty heavy in symbolism and it's interesting to see the hints they put in to reference the future storyline...I hope the story moves fast and they don't drag the murder mystery for the next 9 months because that will be super boring...I wonder what will happen once this mystery is solved.

True, true. I hope so too!

Another good post by you! Quite liked it. A lot.
