The original baddie of small screen, he shot to fame after his villain act in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki. He was paid Rs 15 thousand per episode then. Later, he was paid Rs 20 thousand for his brief role in Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai. Now his market value seems to have soared since he is making around Rs 20 thousand per episode, playing a cop in Kyunki.

Now the reason why I made these conversions is to show you one point. Chetan doesn't make that much money, compared to other actors or actresses. Calculate it out.

He used to make 187 British Pounds. There are about 16 episodes of each show per month. Let's say he's only working for Kyunki. So that's 16 episodes, (roughly) he is making 2,992 per month.

He used to make 277 European Euros. 16 episodes makes 4,432 European Euros per month.

He used to make 333 US Dollars. 16 episodes makes 5,328 US Dollars.

He used to make 394 Canadian Dollars. 16 episodes makes 6,304 Canadian Dollars.

So basically, on a yearly income, Chetan used to make:

35,904 British Pounds per year
53,184 European Euros per year
63,936 US Dollars per year
75,648 Canadian Dollars per year

Now he makes:

Monthly:
4,000 British Pounds
5,904 European Euros
7,104 US Dollars

Now if you think about it, that is a lot of money. But for a celebrity? Just for these dramas? It's so much work, and this is all they are paid? I remember at one point the friends cast earned 100,000 US Dollars per episode. Chetan's not even making that much in US Dollars!

In my opinion, after doing this research, I think these actors and actresses are underpaid.

Of course you can...I'm sure there are other Indian actors who make more than Chetan...perhaps just as much as Hollywood actors...saying that oh wow he's making 20,000 Rs. per episode...that's not a big deal. There are other actors and actresses in the show business in India who make MUCH more than him...
