Actor-producer, and now a successful director, Aamir Khan, has finally spoken about his now-friend-now-foe-attitude towards the media.

He says, " If I didn't speak to the media to promote my 'Rang De Basanti' and 'Fanaa', do you think I was happy? Of course not! I was very sad. Who can underestimate the power of the media today? The media is very important and can mould public opinion." When asked about why he went off press, Aamir explains, " Three or four journalists wrote that I manipulate the media when I need it. That hurt me so much that I decided not to speak to the press at all. And I did exactly that for 'RDB' and 'Fanaa'." Quried further about whether it was wrong on his part to boycott the entire media, for something done by three media persons, Aamir admits that it may have been wrong move on his part . " I agree; I shouldn't have generalised," he says in hindsight.
The actor-producer-director continues, " 'Taare Zameen Par' is just the beginning. I intend doing a lot of different stuff and I need media support. Otherwise, I'll have to pack up."
