First of all, thank you to all of you who prayed and wished for my Mom's recovery. Her surgery went well and now she is in recovery. Since she is in Alberta which is two hours behind our time, we will know more later today. But we are happy to hear that she is doing well before going to bed last night. You guys are awesome. 🤗

Today, I will talk about women. Push-Pull wrote a very good post yesterday on women. Do check it out. I specially liked the line, "Here's to the strong women.. May we know them.. May we be them.. May we raise them..."

http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4796380

A woman plays many roles in her lives.

May be that's why in Hinduism, while male Gods have their specific roles to play (Brahma - The Creator, Vishnu - The Nurturer, Maheshwar - The Destroyer etc.), there is only one Goddess who manifests in various forms.

When the Goddess is in homes, she is Laxmi - the Goddess of prosperity.

When she is at an adobe of knowledge - She is Saraswati... (Today is Saraswati Pujo in Bengal by the way)

When she is protecting her disciples from evil - She is Durga, the slayer of evil.

And when she is in battleground - She is Kali, the destroyer.

And of all the Gods Hinduism worships, The Goddess is considered to be the most powerful.

We worship all of her forms - in temple, that is. Then we can't get enough of her strength, power and glory.

At home and in society though, we want her to do exactly the opposite. We tell them to be deaf, dumb and blind and to grow a thick skin so that insults, humiliation and dishonour can't pierce their soul.

If the Asuras in our society attack, we expect the Durgas in our home to turn the other cheek or ignore or walk away and be the goody two shoes who we can then ignore and give a pat on the head for being docile.

In Hindu mythology, there is a saying that - except in extreme situation, do not rouse Goddess Kali. You won't like the consequences.

Now of course, ordinary women are not Goddesses.

But then Neerja Bhanot was an ordinary woman, Indira Nooyi was an ordinary woman, Queen of Jhansi, Rajiya Sultana, Rani Padmini were all ordinary women. Born in the same soil as us, raised in similar environment.

Then what made them extraordinary?

Its courage that every person is born with, but the society makes women forget. Standing up for what is right regardless of who is wrong takes courage. It's not easy. But when did women ever tackled the easiest task?Otherwise, human race would have been extinct by now.

So here's my fair warning to people like Dev, Ishwari, Radha, Vicky - who underestimate women as the weaker sex, just because they appear soft and delicate and oh so forgiving, don't think they are not capable of answering back. Many dynasties had gone extinct over a woman.

If Dev continues to bother Sonakshi, she deserves the right to pay back with same force, same cruelty, same inconsideration. And I will personally cheer for her for giving back answer in a language he understands and not taking any bull lying down.

'90s mein kehte the naa, "Haarke jitnewale ko bazigar kehte hain?" Aur hum sabko pata hain Bazigar ke ending mein Bazigar ka kya haal hua tha.

To gaowalon, this is not '90s era. This is 21st century and in this century, "Jitke haarnewale ko loser kehte hain... Aur apne dam pe jeenewalon ko winner kehte hain."

There is a saying that is often said to a woman, "Well, then what is the difference between him and you?"

Well, first of all hurt feels same to all humans - be it man or a woman.

Secondly, just because someone is quiet, doesn't mean they are not hurting. The only difference is that they are not letting their hurt to hold them back or become a jerk.

Thirdly, the difference is proactive vs. reactive which is the difference between a bully and someone who stands up against a bully.

When someone attacks you, they are to be blamed. But if you fight back, it's not your fault. And I would have said the same, if Sonakshi had attacked first.

Don't like the heat, Dev? Get out of the kitchen. Women tolerate heat much longer than you can as proved by Sonakshi's patience and tolerance level in your home. You, the pampered prince, who was treated like the precious petal over your sisters, won't be able to beat that.

Today's episode proves it.

At work, Sonakshi tells Bijoy that she will come home soon. Bijoy, confident in his knowledge that Sonakshi can take care of herself tells her to work as long as she wants. But Soha asks Sonakshi to come back soon.

Dev strides in Sonakshi's office like psycho lunatic and snatches her phone and says, "Bijoy Bose".

Soha hands over the phone to her grandfather when she heard someone calling his name.

Bijoy takes the phone while in the office, Sonakshi struggles to get her phone back.

In the meanwhile in Dixit mansion, Vicky is upset for losing money. Radha of course spouts venom for Sonakshi (How dare she pay full price and buy what Vicky sold? I mean it's Vicky's fault for selling the share Dev handed over to him and it's Sonakshi's fault for paying full price and buying it)

Golu overhears their conversation and asks why do they hate? What a lovely, healthy atmosphere this child is being raised in.

Truly, Soha is totally deprived of this amazing upbringing. Imagine how well she'd get to hear her mother's praise morning, noon and night if she was raised in Dixit household. She would have grown up to be such an amazing and balanced person.

Dev tells Bijoy that he will make sure his daughter comes back home safe and sound. Sonakshi is mad at Dev. She tells Dev it's none of his business how long she works in her company.

Dev taunts Sonakshi that this is his office and she is temporary. Blah blah blah...

Me: So as much as I am enjoying this. Here's my common sense says. Dev, let's not forget until Sonakshi sells that company, it's not yours. But if you get to claim whatever Sonakshi owns, then she gets to claim whatever you own - including your office, your staff, your clients and your house. Sounds fair?

And why so protective now? The last seven years when she was struggling to build her company and raising her daughter, knowing that they were thrown out of their house because of your darling brother, I didn't see you making sure, she was going home on time safe and protected?

So you can just go home and let her handle her life. She is much more capable of taking care of herself than you are.

Then Radha calls Dev, so Sonakshi picks up his phone. Radha asks when Dev will return. Golu is waiting. Sonakshi replies back, Dev will be working all night so stop waiting. Radha is shocked to hear Sonakshi's voice in Dev's phone and blames Vicky.

Me: That makes sense. Since Sonakshi doesn't want to leave and Dev has appointed himself her unpaid driver and bodyguard, as long as she works, he will have to stay back. That's fair.

So Dev being the height of asshat, bribes his security guard to leave and locks Sonakshi inside an empty office.

When Sonakshi tries to call her employees, she finds out that Dev has diverted all her calls to his phone and tells her that HIS company rule is that no one can call employees late at night.

He gives her two options. Either beg to him for help or stay locked up.

Sonakshi refuses. In the meanwhile, she calls Soha and lets her know that she will be late but doesn't tell her what her jerk of a father did.

Dev comes back home and asks everyone to play Ludo while he kept Sonakshi stuck in the office. Such a lovely family.

Radha is happy to see Dev like before. Ishwari is happy too. They are all so happy because their prince is happy after successfully torturing his ex-wife while of course another family can worry for their daughter. That's okay though. They are not Dixits. So they can all eff themselves.

Like I said, Sadists deserve neither pity nor mercy.

Sonakshi was right. Dev wanted Sonakshi to come back to him crawling to stroke his male ego. He is not being able to tolerate that she not only is never going to return. But she doesn't even gives two hoots about him.

But like I always say, when the going gets tough, tough gets going by making their own way.

Precap: Vicky tells Dev if he always helps people as soon as possible. Dev proudly tells him that he locked Sonakshi in the office. Now let her play all night. Even Vicky is shocked by this bully.

Anyhoo, Sonakshi burns waste paper basket in Dev's office under the smoke alarm so that fire brigade arrives to rescue her.

Smart girl. I'd have burned every single important and confidential paper in Dev's company. But then Sonakshi is not me.

By the way, Sona, keep water handy. Water helps bring down the fire and increase smoke. Fire brigade will be there faster. And don't forget to sue him for harassment. Better yet, sue his company. His arrogance will be in the dust along with his money and power.

EDITED: P.S. Did anyone notice that Dev didn't keep yet another of his words?

Dev to Bijoy Bose (Phone chinke, Tashan maarke): I will make sure your daughter reaches home safe and sound. Don't worry.

*Locks Sonakshi in the office and walks away to have family reunion time*

Dev to Ishwari: Boo hoo... Sonakshi didn't trust me. She trusted Vicky. I don't know why? I mean I am such a honest, trustworthy person who NEVER lies and always keeps his promises... Sonakshi is such a lier... 😭

And I am guessing the firemen will break the door open. She will change the locks and give a day off to her team - effectively locking Dev Dixit out of his office.

I think his comment of - itni jaldi itni badi hogayi, pata nahi kya kya karke... I seriously wanted to kick him in the balls!! Really have NO idea how Sonakshi restrained herself. I do NOT want Suhana to have or even MEET this kind of a dad Tia. Whatever his reason for wanting to provoke his ex-wife, that comment can't be justified. Forget justification. It can neither be forgiven nor forgotten.

P.S: On a lighter note, happy to know about your mom.

Wonderful post !!

I have not seen the episode yet... But as per written updates and precap, it seems Dev locked Sona in the office.. Well, if this news is true, then Sonakshi did absolutely right by burning those papers ...

And Dev locking Sona, well what should I say... Now this seems to be a new low.. lowest of the low I must say..

Thank you. 😊 I agree with you. But isn't that every MALE CHAUVINIST PIG says when they are jealous of a woman's success? I'd have kicked him where he will never sire another unfortunate kid. But then I am hot-tempered. Sonakshi's restraint surprised me. I hope she makes a case of harassment against him. He should be either in jail or mental asylum.

For that matter, how did Dev earn so much money? Was he doing side business as well? 😡

Trust me. The words people were making big deal out of like Mamma's boy, rude and spineless; is nothing in comparison to what Dev said today. You will feel like kicking him where sun doesn't shine. How Sonakshi controlled herself, I don't know.

To give her credit... Sonakshi did ask the very same question. I understand you came from poverty. Rags to riches kind. Who knows what things you've done to get here. Dirty minds see dirt everywhere (Or something to that effect - don't remember the exact dialogue)

Honestly Tia, I did not have the strength to write a comment after seeing the episode. It is I who needs a psychiatrist because I am actually seeing this horror story unfold and I hate horror stories! How can a man say such words alluding to her being a bi%#*! And then locking her up? I shudder to think of what will happen if some young, unstable, boy, sees this.. What would happen if he tried to lock a girl in a room.. and the girl happened to be claustrophobic... very scary indeed... I know this is a fictional show but then are all people mature to understand where to draw the line?
As a CEO of a company, If i do the things that Dev does, I will be fired by the board of directors! Remember what happened to a certain Mr Phaneesh Murty, for a seemingly indiscreet moment!

The only moment I liked was when for a very short while, it was Sharica we saw. Shaheer and Erica were actually smiling at each other, in the close up sequence, and the editors did not chop it off... I found it sweet...
