I am finally seeing a pattern here.

Julia aka Kangana is meek super star who does dare devil stunts and who is in relation with her producer aka Saif. She is happy to be with him (I guess he is mainstay of her life and cheer leader rolled in one). The producer aka Saif needs Julia as he is in lover with her but also because she makes money for him. When British ask for Miss Julia to perform on front, the producer is forced to allow her to go alone. A grave mistake on his part as Indian soldiers are planning to kidnap her to raise money. Her dubious bodyguard (with agenda???) Shahid Kapoor is forced to rescue / kidnap her. She stays with him, tries to escape, is back and love happens. It is decided to give back Miss Julia (? is a question. Strategy on Shahid's part). Saif realizes Miss Julia is in love with her soldier. Tension breaks out between Saif and Shahid. Shahid's involvement with Indian struggle comes out. Miss Julia runs away with him. Still not clear if Shahid's charecter dies but Miss Julia joins the freedom struggle. Need one more song to come out to get clear picture.
