What draws you into an actor/actress?

I was thinking how much I loved to watch older films. The actors and actresses are so charming and naturally attractive in their own way. Something just draws me into them. In today's time, it seems more people are there for their looks rather than acting chops. Though, I don't find that many stars of today to pull me in to watch them more. Nor do they possess such charm.
I wonder why this is?
Anyway, whoever you like, what made you feel so strongly about them? (Clearly their looks) But...what else did they bring to the table to keep you so interested in them?

It can be ANYTHING, I don't know myself... from a small look they have in their eyes or a small smile they flash, to the way they walk/sit/stand to their acting.

Body language, the way they speak, what they speak, "vibes" ..and character(personality), acting ofcourse.

eyes n silence only..
the more the actor/actress can remain silent yet
emote all that needs to be expressed without
opening their mouth the more i like to see their
work..
