Right from the start, Sonam Kapoor had a strong belief in Neerja being a pathbreaking film. And her faith was restored when she won the Best Actress (Critics) trophy at the recently held Filmfare Awards. The love and support Ms. Kapoor has been receiving is overwhelming and constant.
Post her big win, Sonam, in an interaction with a leading daily, expressed her happiness over the same. "I have been winning awards since the film released in February last year, Of course, it's great to be validated for the work you do and it's heartening to win awards, but honestly, your work should be your reward. I don't think I would be upset if I didn't win awards because, by that logic, I should have stopped working if I thought that way. I have been nominated five times before, but I guess people only remember when you win awards. I got fifth time lucky," shared the actress.
Recently on KWK 5, Sonam revealed her Hollywood plans and how she is not keen to compromise on quality than quantity. "I don't think just because it is an international platform, I want to give up my ideals. I have signed up with a great agency and they are chuffed about the kind of work I do. I am waiting for the right opportunities," added Sonam.
Sonam also expressed her admiration for co-star Priyanka Chopra and the manner in which she has handled her career in Hollywood. But if given a chance, will she do a show like Quantico? "Honestly, I don't know. It is a very long commitment to make and I don't think I want to move out and live in another country for such a long period of time. I will miss home way too much. It's very brave of her to do what she is doing and I admire Priyanka. I am a patriot. We are a fantastic country and we are filled with such talented artists and I want to take up projects that make us proud. I am a proud Indian," said Ms.Kapoor.
Sonam will be next seen in Pad Man opposite Akshay Kumar in R.Balki's film.
