Few years back there was a movie tare zameen par. In which ishaan the child had autism. No one recognize it including his parents and they thought him creep . But a teacher recognised symptoms and guided him to right path.

In star world there is a serial called Dexter. It was story of a man who led normal life outside and serial killer inside. Dexter had a mentor who showed him how to control his sadistic ugres. He had childhood trauma. Yet he appeared normal outside and remained abnormal always.

It irritate me greatly when people call maya a creep or she should be hospitlzed because she is mentally abnormal. In India even mistreated ani.mals get pity but not a human like maya.

I want to ask people who call her creep and say childhood trauma person should act normal.
Care to explain how.
Maya had a father who abused her. Isolated her from friends. Made her life colourless . he attempt to kill her.
A mother who broke her trust and never protected her when she had hard times.

Yet people expect her to normal.
So what is normal according to you.
Be a person like sanjh who was protected and loved and guided by family and friends.

Maya had none. She was alone. How you expect a small girl to fight her own demons alone and yet normal.
She had no guide and no one to teach her right and wrong. She grew up alone and fought to reach top not like sanj whose parents treated her like princess.

Maya is grey and manipulative but not a creep.
If anyone had a friend or family member who is mentally unstable you call them creep and abandon them or protect them.
So narrow minded people grow up.

Sorry for the rant. This strictly my POV.

Good post. I completely agree with you. Even genius's like Einstein had a mental problem. He was good in Maths & Physics but was zero in other subjects. This went on till he got a guide who showed him the way to succeed. Even his parents had underestimated him. The world didn't spare him till he fought his way and emerged as a scientist. The same is the case with Galileo, Newton, and others. In Taare zamaan par, they did give these examples. There are so many people wth mental problems but they have come up in life. The CV's are showing the same thing in the show in the form of Maya. Saanjh is from a middle-class family but has been treated like a princess whereas Maya had a loveless environment and a disturbed childhood. Since Maya has come up with her own efforts, she knows what is life and its ups and downs. Whatever she has learned, it is from life. She knows that crying & begging before people does not help. When people cannot learn good things from her, she chose to learn what is bad and is using it in her favor but she is never a bad lady or a creep, though she is gray and manipulative. All that she needs is true love and able guidance which can make her realize that she can do good even without manipulating. Saanjh is normal but what aim she has got in life other than becoming Mrs.Arjun Sharma, serving him and the family who is content as a typical housewife? Oh sorry, I would rather say practice law being at home and take up divorce cases as and when the clients approach her? Maya can think about her marriage as she has set up a huge empire at a very young age despite her limitations. It is better if Saanjh concentrates on her career for good. Who knows, she will get a person who will be sensitive to her and think about her viewpoint? it is better if she does not narrow herself down to Arjun.
