Bang on cruiser

You see d whole thing about salman taking class on weekends is a joke ...A joke that is taken way too seriously by salman fans as well as some BB fans leaving HM's as confused as d viewers

Whats d point of a reality show if a host ultimately decides wat is right or wrong breaking d already confused HM's momentum/gameplan completely ???

Agree with "sherni" priyanka jagga's post eviction comment that she found it strange as HM's treat salman as their papa

Salman is a confused soul ...Unki sharan mein hi jaana hai to game kyun khelna ??

I think the host and channel decide what is right and wrong for several reasons:
1) TV industry is incredibly corrupt and the channel has prior favorites whom they want to win because of the channel's vested interest
2) Salman has a massive ego and wants his favorites to participate in the show and get treated well, and Salman's clout is so strong that the channel is happy to serve his wishes
3) Indian general population is incredibly emotional and lacking in critical thinking that it needs to be guided into how to think on particular issues. The use of selective editing, the selective grilling in weekends, the loaded questions are tools used by channel often poorly, but with unbelievable success
4) India is a hierarchical society and thus, a top film star as host is able to influence the mind of even educated audience, whom you would otherwise expect to be thinking critically.

So, we have a situation, wherein the channel has a favorite contestant that it wants to win; the audience is incapable of critical thinking and is unusually open to poor thinking and emotional influence; the host's brand has a massive influence in the way the audience thinks on whatever he says; and all the contestants are willing to suspend their judgment and do whatever the host says for fear of ruining their Bollywood hopes.

May I know what disaster it would have brought on house as now Salman and few others seem to be so virtuously suggesting?😛

Baba would have given some cranky orders, housemates would have refused to listen to him just as they refused to listen to Rohan and few other Captains in last two months. Kya ukhaad leta Baba?😲

Task is a task and as it comes from Bigg Boss whose house it is, the sanctity should be respected and one must give his best. Simple

Very well said, Cruiser: Task is a task and as it comes from Bigg Boss whose house it is, the sanctity should be respected and one must give his best.

Some time back, Bigg Boss deemed Rohan as a person who should not be captain and he made Rohan ineligible for captaincy henceforth. By that decision, Bigg Boss implied that he has the capacity to make a person ineligible for captaincy if Bigg Boss deems that person unfit.

By not enforcing a similar decision on Swami Om, Bigg Boss conveyed to everyone that Swami Om is eligible for captaincy and capable for it. After all, if Bigg Boss believed Swami Om was not capable of captaincy, it was quite easy for him to issue a similar diktat to the one enforced on Rohan.

It is Bigg Boss' rules and contestants are trying to play by the rules and win. It is Bigg Boss' decision to provide Swami Om the option to run for captaincy. It is Bigg Boss' decision to provide Swami Om to assign a substitute in the captaincy task.

Ofcourse - it is possible that - Manu can think that Swami Om will be a poor captain and that it is better for the house that Swami Om not be the captain. But he also knows that Bigg Boss, with all his superior visibility into contestants and objectives of the show, believes Swami Om can be a captain and the best way to decide the next captain is by this task. Bigg Boss believes that the winner of the task is the fair way to decide the next captain.

So, Manu, by keeping aside his personal differences with Swami Om, and by agreeing to do the task with full effort, is actually trusting Bigg Boss' judgment and letting the process of the task decide the outcome of selection of next captain. Manu's gesture is actually showing that the game is more important than individuals, and he should be applauded.

All this is completely fair in theory, I just have few points to make
1. I personally have lost all respect towards BB as an authority. Although ideal, it is no more the case that BB thinks Om is eligible for captaincy, but more like the creative team thinks that making om captain will bring in a lot of filthy content. They let Om fight for captaincy and look what he did. This is no more the show where we can assume that BB is a neutral authority. Another example. The HMs did the bidding task after Om was evicted. Then they later gave Om a chance to win immunity, because he didn't get to participate in the bidding task. well guess what, om was already given a chance by being brought back after eviction and then another week by not being in nomination. This way even priyanka should get a chance. All the wild cards should get a chance? I would think that as a neutral authoritative figure, BB will be a matter of fact, no nonsense, non-emotional guy. What was this "you did not get a chance" ? Well he didnot get a chance because he was friggin evicted!

2. About Manu. both times it has come down to whether he will perform the task for baba against people he really doesn't like. Manu being smart has naturally found a way to justify supporting baba.
So while as a rule I support the idea of keeping task above personal grudges, on case by case basis, in this case i do not support Manu favoring Baba.

3. In BB as a game, the only rule is survive to win. Your krama is to win. To win you can apply sam dam dand bhed. To win you will bring forward the people that would support you in captaincy, nominations etc and try to eliminate people that will nominate you, not support you and so on. The foundation of BB is personal relationships.. politics.. groups. Suppose there was a task where Lopa was supposed to do the task to make Bani get immunity. Do you think Lopa should do it, knowing it is against her bigger game of eliminating Bani? Either way, it is fun to see how people react to such situations. We cannot formulate it like no matter who it is going to benefit, you just do the task. It is against human nature of unpredictability, of taking decisions looking at the specific situations. So Manu would support Baba as his representative is right. But Rohan saying I wouldn't play a task as Baba's representative is also right. There would be people supporting both sides which is the fun part.

4. Tasks. Remember you have to "perform" in tasks. Losing the tasks is usually a problem because then you could lose immunity etc. But if you lose the task for someone else, depending on who it is, you could stand to gain or lose in long term. There have been many winners who have lost many many tasks. You win because of entertainment. content. A story. Popularity. You don't win due to morality: of deciding not to represent baba. You also don't win due to sincerity: of deciding to put task before a person.

He would have come up with some crazy diktats like X tum Pool mein koodo, Y tumhein garden mein sona padega blah blah!😆

Just as orders of Rohan-Lopa were not followed his orders would have been ignored too and he would have cried to BB through couple of cams! How would it have mattered?😲

We are certainly not sure what he could have done. May be you are right that is the max he could do or may be he could do worse. He can't digest if anyone defies him. In that hostel task he got so aggressive that he tried to break the door. During Maharaja task Lokesh didn't listen to him and he said lot of bad things about her. He becomes very nasty if something does not go according to his wish. So he is not someone who is stable. So IMO captaincy task is basically a different kind of vote where a representative can support his favorite candidate. If Manu wants to support Om its okay his choice. But he actually pretended otherwise.

Finally some level-headed thinking on Manu 👏. I can't believe this discussion is happening outside the AT. Glad nevertheless that there are viewers who can see through Manu's genuinely straightforward plan of action. Nothing more, nothing less.
