I don't usually watch TV serials and it goes for both English and Hindi shows. Infact there are very few that I can claim to have watched. As i was flipping through channels this February, i saw the promo for a show that was to begin on Sony Entertainment Television and honestly while the focus was on the FL Suman, my attention was captured by the ML Shravan cause in those few seconds, the ease with which he emoted was something I had not seen even in film stars for a long long time.
My decision to watch the show was purely cause of Namik Paul and i cant say i regret it cause in Shravan Malhotra, we all saw one of the most beautiful characters that was ever conceived on Indian television and even more beautifully potrayed by Namik. The story had the potential to reach great heights and change the way our serials are shown. Throughout the 6 or 7 months that i have watched this show(Haven't missed a single episode btw) I have been mesmerised by Namik and his fantastic potrayal of Shravan Malhotra. Here is a guy whose mother leaves him when he probably needed her the most and has never looked back at him even once (I have never ever understood her compulsions ), being constantly looked upon as a threat by his aunt for the family property and who wants him gone for that very reason(mind you he is aware that he is not wanted), a girl who he has loved and cared for right from childhood but who treats him in the worst possible way at every given chance. If he's turned into a complex person, its cause of these very reasons. So, when people say he blindly trusts his father, I don't see anything wrong in that cause given the others in his life, his father has been the only rock solid support that he has ever had. Is it even possible to imagine the pain the guy would have gone through when the girl he loved, suddenly starts ignoring him ( out of the blue) and refuses to give him a reason for it. If he's turned into someone who washes dirty linen in public, who can blame him for it! When a person is pushed to his limits, he reacts and that is exactly what happened with Shravan Malhotra.
After all these months of negativity and showing Suman as someone who is only bothered about her family and her self respect, if you are going to end this show by making only Shravan apologise to Suman for his behaviour, you would be doing the gravest form of injustice to his character. If there is anyone who deserves an apology, it is Shravan - from his parents and from Suman for treating him in the most appalling manner. Shravan has to apologise too and own up to his mistakes but he most certainly cannot be the only one to do so. Also, yesterday's episode where Suman is taunting Shravan with the hope that he starts his own business is, well bluntly put, extremely lame and stupid. Suman has a business of her own, great for her but that cannot be a reason to taunt her husband constantly so he has his own firm. People work in the family business the whole time don't they? Isn't Shravan working on cases and winning them too (He did save Suman's Tiwari Qilla single handedly did he not?) Why should he not work with his father? If she thought that by working at Malhotra Associates, his father would be able to poison his mind further, well she should then move out of the mansion cause they all do stay in the same blooming house and the father can spread the same poison at home too, Madam!! If all this was not enough, to constantly humiliate him in his own house in front of his own family when he has always been civil to her in front of her family..well what can i say? It has disgusted me no end!
I have been very very vocal about the show not ending, but then now that I've seen the way u guys plan to end it, i am quite relieved that it is ending cause i cannot bear the thought of Shravan going through more humiliation at the hands of a girl who does not deserve him. his love or his friendship. I hope you guys understand that female power does not mean being right all the time..Its humanly impossible! It definitely does not mean that the whole world has to apologise for all the wrongs YOU think they committed and yes in this case a lot of the wrongs that Suman thinks Shravan has done are purely imaginary. Feminism is all about being confident about yourself and understanding that there will be times when you are wrong and at such times be humble and make things right and if that can be achieved through an apology, so be it. A woman is NOT always right and a male is NOT always wrong!!
I am certain Namik will ace the remaining 2 episodes like he always does, but in all this Shravan Malhotra will lose and that is an ending that I am just not ready for!!
