He was an image, a dream, the light against the horrible nightmare she was living: he was Shivaay, worried sick at the thought of her being harmed. He, who flew off the handle each time she was injured; how did he manage to keep his sanity at this time?

She knew that this was all the time she had left with him, that this was the last time she would be able to see his face, touch him, to stare into those eyes that meant the world to her, the eyes that had made life both bearable and unbearable for her, eyes that were frantically searching as if to somehow catch a glimpse of her tear-streaked terrified face.

So she smiled when he reassured her, more for him than for her, knowing he couldn't see her.
She smiled for him because even now, he was still that man, who thought of himself as an immortal protector of those he wanted to protect, and he wanted to save her.

Knowing she had such brief moments, she imagined she was touching his face as she took him in, that worried face, lined with years of being the saviour, those lips that had hurt her with their cruel words, so at odds with his eyes, those eyes the colour of melting glaciers, made up of all her favourite colours in the world.

In that moment, all she thought of was his beloved face, knowing he could and would injure her if she survived, and yet, she won't be truly broken until he stopped existing. And that was enough.
So she smiled through her tears, knowing she had his face to cherish in these ending moments of her life.

I've always been a silent reader, and enjoyed all of your posts. But I had to comment today. Even watching the episode didn't give me the feels your words just did. So beautifully written from Anika's perspective. Thank you!

Beautiful as always, Geet👏👏 My extra fav. lines in bold :)

You couldn't resist describing his eyes yet again, could you?😆😆...Aww@ filled with all of Anika's favorite colors in the world😆...from chaandni aakhein to melting glaciers waali aakhein...Shivaay ka promotion ho gaya in 2 days thanks to Geet😆

All the kidding aside...you know what struck me today...and you mentioned it in this post too...how BELOVED his face was to her in the scene today...that sense came through so piercingly as she ran her hands over the image of his face...the slight smile through the tears...the love literally pouring out of her she caressed that image.

It's striking because all of this is usually so buried under the endless layers of tadi, arguments, smokescreens of indifference...but today you get to see an Anika who cut through all those layers to express the simple truth of how beloved he really is to her...so against all odds, after all the anger, pain, hurt, ugliness...he is beloved to her...just a few hours back, he may have said the ugliest things to her, but this girl who anyways doesn't manage to hold a grudge for long, shed whatever hurt/anger there even may have been to rise above everything and openly express that sense of belovedness. It was quite a touching bit...and as I said, just made all the more poignant for all the subtext...yes, Shivaay was reassuring her with a "I won't let anything happen to you"...but the moment became so much beyond that because of the way she touched his image...knowing he couldn't see her, yet somehow it felt like he could...no? :)

Thank you love!!🤗 I was rewatching the scene and I knew I had to write😆

I finally have eyes other than hazel or brown to write about😆 I will use ALL the rainbow metaphors in the world now

Absolutely! As if, as if in touching him, for a few moments, there were no regrets, no pain, nothing, just the feeling of touching his face, the feeling of that man and being able to touch him finally. We see this in Shivaay when he tries to ensure if Anika is fine after an injury or some incident.

Absolutely.. as if, the rest didn't matter if she could have this moment with him, just the two of them, imperfect halves of a perfect whole.
And then, I had a slight sense that she was also kind of easing away his worry in the scene, smoothening the worry lines on his face, like he could sense it in some form or the other, and when Daksh called him, he became aware when she moved away.

I so adore their scenes that have this quality in them...it's just so satisfying to watch when these two GOOD actors manage to portray all these complexities of their characters perfectly

Arre, come here for a jhappi 🤗

Thank you hi kahungi, for a job well done😃😉
But honestly, that moment had poignancy in it, and I think it was also because it was such a silent moment for Anika, as if all the storms just disappeared for that brief moment and she knew love.
