You know what you wrote below got me thinking..Has Dev really changed ?
I don't think so he is the same flawed individual that he was in the beginning except certain actions of his made us go Gaga over him and the same or similar actions now make us hate him.
please hear me out..this is not in support of him but just trying to see it from an non emotional pov
He waited for Sona for 5 hours we were so happy to see it but why did he ? Was it out of respect or because he wanted her to treat his mother and he was willing to go any lengths to get it done?
He wanted Sona to be his mothers nutritionist so what did he do he closed all avenues for her so she had no choice was it romantic or ruthless?
He wanted Ranveer to marry Neha so he offered him the job?. Did he have respect for Ranveer no
He realized he was in love with Sona the day of his engagement and broke up with Natsha ..if Sona were not in the picture we would have called him a jerk. Since we root d for Sona we thought it was awesome.
He broke up with Sona without a moments thought why because he wanted his mother to be happy.
He stalked Sona because he did not want her to move on..the list goes on...
From where I see it Dev Dixit has always been a ruthless guy , to get what he wants he goes headlong into things, buys his way out with money, bullies ,lacks empathy and tries to get easy fixes.
So ,is he the ideal hero material I don't think so because in real life I don't think anyone of us would want to be with a Person who has all these qualities . We may see one or two of these qualities but if they have all of them they are flawed.
why do we get upset at him?
Is it because we want the hero to behave a certain way and hope Dev will based on him sometimes behaving in the way we feel acceptable.
Has he really changed?
No
Why is he the way he is?
One word Easwari. She did not let him fail, told him he was always right and could do no wrong, and groomed him to make a lot of money ..end result we have a person who does not take failure lightly tries to win by hook or crook and uses money to buy his way and he thinks he is always right.
What does he want now ?
His mother and his wife to be happy so he can be happy.
.how to achieve that ?
He saw his mother bond with his wife because of a baby, unfortunately Sona cannot have a baby so he thought let me make sure she has a baby by hook or crook so that it is a win win..
what he fails to understand is life is also about failure and how you deal with them and the winning card is not always dealt..you have to win with what you have and only when he understand it will Dev Dixit the hero emerge. hopefully he will understand before it is too late.
Sorry for the ramble but I do believe parents play a major role in shaping our children we just need to make them understand failure is ok..instead of saying failure is NOT an option
