HRITHIK'S BLIND TURN LANDS IN FRESH SOUP

American streaming and production giant Netflix is suing the Sanjay Gupta directorial for plagiarising one of their originals
Hrithik Roshan's upcoming film, the Sanjay Gupta-directed action-thriller Kaabil, has landed in fresh trouble with American entertainment streaming company and production giant, Netflix, suing the filmmakers for plagiarising one of their original productions, Daredevil, directed by Drew Goddard and based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.
A source close to the development informed Mirror that they have noted glaring similarities between the series and the Hrithik-starrer. "Protagonists of both the productions are blind while even the action sequences look the same. The colour schemes are also similar. This has upset Netflix and they will be taking legal action against Rakesh Roshan's FilmKraft Productions and Sanjay Gupta's White Feature Films," the source adds.
Also featuring Yami Gautam, actor-brothers Rohit and Ronit Roy, Kaabil has been in the news owing to an impending box-office clash with Rahul Dholakia's Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Raees. Two of the most anticipated releases of the year, both films are slated for release on the Republic Day weekend.
Incidentally, SRK's production house Red Chillies Entertainment has announced a three year deal with Netflix, in which films produced under the banner will be available for viewing to exclusive subscribers in India as well as worldwide.
When contacted, Publicis Consultants Asia, the official publicity partner for Netflix, informed Mirror, "Netflix has no comments to share at the moment."
- It's a preposterous comparison because Hrithik is not a superhero in Kaabil. His character is that of a blind man who does what he does best. In Daredevil, the protagonist fights 30 people at a time. None of that is happening in Kaabil. If they sue us, we'll definitely fight back.
