I had already started writing this piece before Priety and Deepu posted theirs, but couldn't complete it in time. But I'm glad it still fits. 😆

Ranveer stood at the window in his room overlooking the garden. The wetness on his cheeks told the story of his grief. The pain that was as raw even after two years as the day he had lost Ippy in the hit-and-run. Knowing that her killer was out there scot-free, enjoying life, while each day he struggled to come to terms with his loss, had fuelled his desire to hunt him down and bring him to justice. He'd worked long days and sleepless nights to find out the culprit, and his efforts were rewarded when he met the Oberois. But while Omkara was a tough nut to crack, Priyanka had seemed vulnerable. So he'd decided to cut the chase and tell her the truth. And she had run.
He had been surprised to see Miss Oberoi in the garden when he had arrived at the ashram earlier. She didn't seem the kind who would be into meditation, and given the last conversation they'd had in Mumbai, he wouldn't be wrong to conclude that she was running away. Away from a truth that was staring her in the eye. But running away from demons didn't mean you could lose them. They only haunted you that much more.
The confusion that had lingered on her face when he helped her today didn't surprise him. Her eyes held the one question that he had always asked himself - Why? Though the answer to her why was far simpler than that of his. Miss Oberoi was shocked that despite knowing the havoc she and her brother had wreaked in his life, he would still help her. But in his line of work, being detached was the key to getting things done. Not letting emotions cloud your judgement was critical to being objective and so, he had never found it difficult to be civil even to the worst of criminals. Knowing that Priyanka Singh Oberoi was responsible for the death of his sister filled him with a blinding rage but he couldn't let it overtake his brain. He would not rest till he had Miss Oberoi accept the truth of her involvement in the hit-and-run.
Because civil, he could be. But forgiving? He was not!
