Friday Shirley. Something unexpected happened in home front and certain things needs to be sorted out.
When people don't observe limits, they create unnecessary stress for everyone concerned.

Wow Shirley, what a way to bring out the contrast nature of 2 women in most significant way. I can relate to this part most as I am a working lady who single handedly managed my kitchen when my child was a baby and even after she joined to school the work load added but I had to be always on the roller skates to make the ends meet before leaving for the office (when I shifted to Bangalore with my 5 years old daughter). But initially for 2 to 3 years, till she learnt to manage her books and hair, my husband helped me by making her ready with bathing her & making wear uniform but the kitchen was always my portfolio. Having adjusted to such rushed timetable, it is really difficult for me to manage holidays as I don't find enough to keep me occupied and my sisters (2 of my own sisters & 3 Co sisters) struggle with house hold work all through the day and still complain, they don't get enough time even to breath at times. I just laugh with them but that's how we people get used to our own Schedules.

one side Radhika being a working woman , manages the whole kitchen before leaving fro her work and keep the packed lunches also for her family. On the other hand Malini doesn't find enough time to even unpack her luggage. But Some times naa, they will get more appreciated for their concern for their husband and kids while working woman will be downcasted publicly for not giving more time and attention to family. See the contrast, radhika was worried that she may not be able to cook her husband's favorite dish on his birthday which might make him disappointed and on the other hand, though Malini didn't completed her work on hand (of unpacking), she managed to cook Biriyani for her husband which made him instantly grab her to his folds.

This is the reality 😕

Jaya it also shows that Keshav is doing just lip service of wanting equality for women and men... instead of asking Suchitra I believe he should have spoken to Radhika.. Isnt almost gossiping to ask Suchitra? and that comment to himself how Radhika is reserved.. y should she be so open to him a new comer?
Shirley awesome part.. Thank u for the writing it despite ur schedule 🤗

@ Ria, I didn't see any lip service of equality with Keshav as he never underestimated a lady and blown up a male so far. In case of him asking the details or help on intranet, he was supposed to seek that from Suchithra as she is working with him as his team. Radhika has an independent league. he can check with Radhika only if he fails to understand the case he is supposed to take over from Radhika. Otherwise no colleague will be happy spare their time on briefing someone else when they have their own resources.

And his comment for Radhika being reserved is just his observation and it is expected to be open with your colleagues in legal or corporate world though not over do it. So it is no big deal if he feels why she is so reserved, that can be a concern also as she has explained how she missed her hubby's birthday last year and might end up doing the same this year. Also in legal world, if one is completely reserved with their own colleagues it will lead to serious complications at work front, so he was just analyzing the situation and how to move forward. He was worried whether she is carrying her personal tension to office which might affect her career as well as the growth of the organization.

If you are talking about him not helping Mailini in her work (setting up her kitchen), then I would say it could be the mutual decision between them. In my case, if my husband offers to help me in kitchen, I will have an heart attack as I can't afford to redo the things more often. At times, though we ladies crib that men doesn't help in kitchen, we prefer it to be like that as we can do better without their help and clear the task faster without mess.

@Ria kitchen is one place I would prefer to keep my hubby away as much as possible. Sometimes he will cook, but then I will eat, he wont eat 😆😆.
Also Keshav is analyzing the colleague, whenever you are in new place you try to talk to neutral people to understand your colleagues. So that you can behave accordingly 😃

Chapter 4- PTA

Radhika reached home. Abhi was already home. He sat with the newspaper. Rohan came to her with his diary.

" Maa this Friday we have PTA meeting. Will you be coming"

Radhika looked tiredly. PTA meeting this was something Abhi never went. He expected Radhika to go. Because of her busy schedule Radhika had missed last couple of PTAs. She knew she had to go this time. Ryan came with his homework.

" Maa can you please help me do this "

" Abhi please can you check Ryan's home work. I need to warm the dinner " requested Radhika

" Radhika you check it yaar. Let him finish. You can correct it after dinner also. Ryan sit and finish the work beta"

Radhika walked inside. Yes Abhi was never against her ambitions. But he expected her to be a super woman too though he didn't tell it explicitly. The maid was there to do house hold work. Rohan went for tuitions, but still after work she had to cook, check on Rohan and Ryan's homework, attend PTA, attend all the functions in his family without fail, celebrate all the festivals with rituals. Abhi didn't help her much with household work or in taking care of their sons. He offered the very necessary forced minimal help.

Dinner was usual affair and after dinner Radhika sat and corrected Ryan's homework, made Rohan pack his school bag as per next day's time table. By the time she cleaned the kitchen and tidied up it was 11. She wanted to check on a case but in their room seeing Abhi's face she felt, she will have to oblige him. She felt tired to the bones, but there were days where her husband expected her to be a wife in their room. In the early days of marriage Radhika had tried to make Abhi understand, but after a certain time she left it. It was better that way and many days she never got the emotional warmth that was needed in a conjugal relation. Radhika never discussed her work with Abhi as he rarely acknowledged it.

Next two three days went faster for Radhika what with cases, mentoring juniors, clarifying to Keshav on finer aspects of the property case and soon she didn't know it was Friday.

She had told Suchitra to cancel all her morning appointments and had asked a half day leave to her employer. She accompanied Rohan to the PTA meeting.

In the PTA meeting general things told. After that Radhika went to meet Rohan's class teacher. She asked the teacher about Rohan

" Mrs Singh I was about to call you on Rohan. These days Rohan is not eating his lunch. I have caught him wasting food multiple times or trying to exchange his lunch box with his friends. "

" Not eating his lunch. Any idea Madam why it is happening" asked Radhika

" It can be multiple things Mrs Singh. Either the tiffin lacks variety or the boy feels it is not warm enough. You know some mothers send the lunch box just before noon to the school"

" Ok. Any other issues Madam"

" No otherwise Rohan is a well mannered boy. Does his homework fine. Have quite good marks for the class tests. Though I would advise you to look into his Maths a bit more "

" Thank you Madam" told Radhika and as she walked back leaving Rohan in school to her office, her only thought was why her son was not eating lunch. She always managed to keep a decent variety of food for his lunch. She had to talk to Rohan
