Force 2 could not do much on day one with collections of 5 crore nett apprx which is much better than last week's Rock On 2 but its just a bit higher than Force (2011) collected. There is demonetizing issue still lingering especially outside the big metros but that would have resulted in around 20% less collections than normal. But even if we take fair value of 6.50 crore that is still not good for an action film. This is sort of expected as Force in 2011 did not work so its hardly going to bring in a larger audience the second time round. Maybe if the scale and cast is improved multi fold it could make a difference but here there is hardly much of a difference going by the promos. The opening day is better than Rocky Handsome as that got a similar first day on a partial holiday though that film also had paid previews on Thursday. The opening may not be good for Force 2 but it does put into perspective the epic disaster numbers of Rock On 2 last week and shows how bad that film was.
The film has not really fared well anywhere and more importantly those key multiplexes did not shpw much evening growth though this does not mean it won't grow on Saturday but its very unlikely to be the 40-50% growth needed by the film.
Tum Bin 2 is a poor fare and may just touch the 75 lakh nett mark on day one. Tum Bin was a low budget success in 2001 but was a low grosser so did not really find an audience and would have no recall value today. The music of Tum Bin (2001) was a huge hit and even now Tum Bin 2 was decent music wise but only as far as the audio goes, visually it had nothing going for it which is most important today as the audience watches songs rather than listen to them. The only plus is the low cost of the film and unless it springs a huge surprise on Saturday it will not have much of a theatrical run.
