Sonam Kapoor has often been tagged as the fashionista of Bollywood. Although for quite a while the actress was put down by people for they believe she is just all beauty with no talent. A lot of times Sonam has even expressed her displeasure on being just called a fashionista and nothing more. However, post her act in the biopic of Neerja Bhanot, air hostess who sacrificed her life for the safety of the passengers. The film, that released in February this year brought a lot of appreciation for Sonam. In fact, so much that she is receiving an award for the same. We hear she will be honoured with the Icon Of India for her contribution to the industry.

However, an actress has revealed how she is left wondering why Sonam Kapoor of all people has been awarded this award. The actress, who'd like to stay anonymous, quoted, "Sonam Kapoor is being awarded an Icon of India award for her contribution as an artiste towards Indian cinema and her sensitive portrayal of Neerja Bhanot with grace and conviction' at the 11th edition of the Asiavision Movie Awards. While she has done excellent work in and as Neerja, there are equally (if not more) deserving candidates for the award like Amitabh Bachchan in Pink, Akshay Kumar in Airlift and Alia Bhatt in Udta Punjab. Radhika Apte has won the Outstanding Performer award for her performances in Parched and Phobia and these are well-deserved as she has shone in all. Does Sonam really merit to such a heavy weight award at this point?

if they give Sonam this award, then we won't stop hearing about it from her for years...but come to think of it, maybe they were surprised at how well she acted, which is why they gave it to her...😆

Actress and international fashion icon, Sonam Kapoor, was conferred with the award for "Youth Icon of the Year- Female" at the Yuva Awards 2015, that honor the most promising young faces of the nation!

India TVs Yuva awards are given away every year to youth icons who have demonstrated exemplary leadership in their respective fields. The awards were divided into six categories: politics, sports, music, films, television and business.

Speaking about the awards, Ritu Dhawan, Managing Director & CEO of India TV said: "It is these young achievers of our nation who will most certainly be amongst those who will lead our country to greater heights in the near future. These rising stars, despite their young age, are the shining icon of Gen Y. Yuva Awards is a humble attempt by India TV to encourage the spirit of excellence and inspire fellow Indians."The nominations have been made through a stringent process involving recommendations by the editorial board, followed by a stratified research by a research partner C-Voter & subsequently decided upon by the grand jury led by Sarod maestro Ustaad Amjad Ali Khan. Other noted personalities on the jury included Prasoon Joshi, Vandana Luthra, Prof. Pushpesh Pant and India TV Chairman & Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma.

On the occasion said Sonam Kapoor, "It is a huge honor to receive this award and with this recognition comes a huge responsibility.I hope to live up to the title".

People will obviously hate but seeing the aim of this award, it's well-deserved.

Despite people always putting her down , she does her best to do good work she likes.

The bitchy actress is simply a jealous one.

I doubt it's Kangna. she's currently shooting Simran and tends to go MIA when she's working .

whenever blinds have the term 'bitchy actress'...then it has to be Sonam herself...
Her equivalent is Bebo...not equivalent...much more senior...so this 'bitchy actress' here would be Bebo or Kangy
if its Bebo..shez a Kapoor...shez Kareena...shez blunt...a motor mouth...so its ok

Happy for Sonam..she deserved all the awards of this year for neerja. .I don't care who thinks what.but as a normal south Indian film viewer this bolly film glued me to the screen after a long time..people can justify it's coz of the story direction whatever. ..but if Sonam failed to connect with the audience as neerja then that film won't get appreciated even if it deserved all of them..I only adored how lovely she looks till raanjhana but after neerja I'm looking forward to see more acting from her..she has potential and I'm happy finally she is getting what she deserves..this year awards shuld go to Sonam or vidya. . Even tje film havnt released the song n trailer is a hint how vidya gonna steal our hearts once more like Sonam did in neerja

PS:and almost all these actresses r bitches..some prefers to openly express what they feel rather than hiding behind a mask of fake smiles n sweet words..so it's funny to see people relating the word bitch to only kangana Sonam n Kareena. .
