I have to confess ...

I have to confess - I really like Neela's character. Neela is a strong, kind-heartened, and responsible person. She is also a dutiful daughter. She lost her mother when she was very young - this has made her realize how important it is to have a mother and so helping children has become a passion. She runs a children's home where any child of any creed, religion and ethnicity is accepted. She has experienced a lot in life and is resilient enough to take anything.
She is frank and straight forward person - and so asks Ashish directly whether he loves her or some one else in his life. She is a very intuitive person and at a glance picked up Avni's pain and Ashish's reluctance to marry her.

She is also aware that her father is very ill and that the doctor has not told her everything.

She is also very human and that is why even when her intuition screams that there is something wrong with the way Ashish is behaving towards her - she just wants to hear or look for signs that Ashish loves and cares for her!

I do hope, moving ahead, her role is developed well. Because, I see her as one of the stars of this serial. Yes, Avni is the heroine - but Neela is no sidekick and is a glowing star in this story. I see Asha and Ashish as props to lay the foundation for Avni's life story with Dayaben being playing the villain.

I too like the character, but the portrayal hasn't made an impact on me yet 🤔

The way I see it - she is to portray someone who is very sensitive and intuitive. Someone with a big heart and an inner antenna who picks on all sort of vibes easily. This has made her very vulnerable and being sensitive she hurts easily. Other than her father she has had no shoulder to cry on so she was forced to learn to hide her hurt feelings and bounce back easily. In addition, since she grew up without a mother - she had to deal with watching other kids do and perience things with their moms which knew she never could. So, she taught herself coping mechanisms to be resilient. One of those coping mechanism is the 'supposed nautanki' behavior. Otherwise her core personality is that of a cheerful responsible person who loves to help others.

Overall, I see the actor who plays Neela doing a wonderful job! Initially I too was wondering why she was acting the way she was - but now that I understand Neela's personality - I see that she is doing a great job.

Totally agree. I think Sayantani is doing a great job. Reviews have been a tad bit unfair to her. She has been great since the 2nd episode of her appearance in the show. I think her portrayal has struck a chord atleast with me besides which Viraf and Sayantani look great together.

Agree with your opinion about the character Neela. I feel pity for her. Because of Dayavanti and Ashish her life will be destroyed.

Beautifully explained :) I'm still not convinced with the acting, but I'll try to look at her with fresh eyes.
