I could almost equate it to meditation, it requires a lot of focus and dedication, be it any stream or field. Probably he did put the seed in them, but that eventually took its own form in the daughters. Plus, if parents seem some kind of potential in their kids, they do push them a bit more so that the kids go all out in achieving it. I think, the way we see it is pretty objective.

May not be true all the time...Sometimes the inherent genius is so compelling that even half an attempt will lead to flourishing results...Case in point Sachin Tendulkar...He went on record saying he enjoys bowling more than batting and in fact got into this cricket thingy so that he will get to bowl...He even tried to enroll in that bowling academy(forgot its name)...But his coach said, na re baba you are made for batting...And the rest as they say, is history!

He would have forced his son too if he had one
Its already difficult for kids to defy their parents let alone indian kids

I get what you are saying but here I am not too convinced it's valid. He was a coach, he saw the spark and almost all the coaches are living for reflected glory too. The point they are going for is, he was a MCP as well, but when he saw the raw talent and power of his daughters , his eyes opened and he realized that they are no less than his desired son in any way which is why he gave them a platform in a male dominated world. If they felt suffocated , pushed and all, they would have perished or won't have made it to this level. The nature of the sport and the opposition, it would have been easier to back out had his daughters felt like that..we won't know in totality what drives our actions. It's like sons of a father taking over his business/farms or whatever, they would have given up had they failed, felt unhappy but they excelled, they loved what they do and you see a revolution happening. Putting it in context of where it is happening aka Haryana , pushes the narrative more.

But not like he doesn't enjoy doing it at all. When I say this, I consider my own and other experiences around me. When you have to give everything to a particular sport or goal, you do have to have a liking for it. Probably yes, you might enjoy doing something else more but your passion for that particular task should be equally high. And the reason behind you wanting to achieve your goal might be different, it might be for yourself, for somebody dear to you or anything else. That only the person would know, but I don't think you'd excel in something when you are entirely forced to do it. Initially, probably yes..but eventually until and unless you develop a respect and liking towards it, moving ahead simply gets extremely difficult that too amongst insane competition.

Initial period is the key, I think! And that is where a coach can help and as they see themselves excelling and getting recognition, they will eventually start even enjoying it and giving it their everything...So I agree with your point that initially they may be forced but if eventually they don't enjoy it themselves, its almost impossible to excel!

He's one of those parents who lead a miserable life because of his shattered dreams and then lives vicariously through his children. Children on their part do anything to please their dad to get his attention. He was disappointed when they were born. Only felt happy when he found that he can make 'em do where he failed. It's that typical mentality where parents always do the best for you whether deciding your future spouse, career or interfering in your daily life.

I have read somewhere that phogat sisters came to Satmev Jayte episode where they told about how their father mistreated them.

Also the phogat girl participating this time in olympics(i forgot her name) she wanted to pursue her studies not wrestling but her tauji forced hee to take wrestling becoz it has become family sports now. I appreciate the hard work put by Mahavir Phogat for all phogat girls but still there have been many stories of abuses which doesnt set well with me.
