M utiny is brewing among the younger actors on Left Right Left. Matters have taken a turn for the worse following rumours that the Deeya and Tony Singh production could be com- ing to a premature end. Priyanka Bassi who plays one of the cadets admits that she's unhappy with the way this 'youth show' has shifted focus. "How long will we continue being cadets? When do we graduate to becoming offi- cers?" she grouses. She blames constant changes in the creative team for the dis- crepancies in the plot. Down and out Co-cadet Arjun Bijlani concurs with Bassi, saying that the show is headed the saas-bahu way. "I'd requested Tony sir to ease me out, but he flatly refused," he reveals. Vikas Manaktla who has been miss- ing in action for the last two months, has washed his hands off the show. "They have stopped calling me for the shoots. That doesn't bother me," he says. Unfair He seems pretty upset by the fact that co-star Ghazal Rai who was on the show for a long time but without a contract, was thrown out one fine day "It's not fair," he exclaims. . Manaktla says that he's heard the buzz that it could be curtains soon for LRL. He hopes that the 'creatives' give it a decent ending. "I don't want this cult show to be remembered in a negative light," he asserts. End not near Gaurav Chopra, who plays a senior offi- cer, however dismisses rumours that the show is winding up. "All this is being spread by disgruntled elements," he snaps. "Left Right Left is the channel driver of Sab TV The TRPs have been stable. In fact, they . have even gone up. Why should it end?" He states that the younger members of the cast don't understand that the show is about building soldiers and not having fun. "Success has come to them too early. That's why they don't appreciate a good show," he says. It isn't so Business head of Sab TV Anooj Kapoor, , denies the rumours, saying that the young actors are very much a part of the show. "It's just that currently there are two par- allel tracks. Why would we want to pull out when just last week Left Right Left was list- ed the most popular show on Sab?" he argues. Meanwhile, producer Tony Singh fumes, "I'm the most harried producer in the world! These youngsters want the focus only on them but that's not possible. "They don't understand commitment. They don't get the value of being part of this cult show. I hope they realise their mistake."
