has admitted that Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise
Bhi although being number 1 on digital and
international has not really clicked in India
ratings. " I guess one of the reasons could be
that there was no strong preceding show
which would help it garner more eyeballs. I
am sure the launch of thriller Beyhadh at 9
pm will also help to bring in more viewers to
Kuch Rang Pyar as well..
The characters of Ishwari (Supriya
Pilgaonkar), Dev(Shaheer Sheikh) and
Sonakshi (Erica Fernandes) have already
entered the 10 characters list, so it also
strong show for us already. The success in
digital and international encourage us for it
shows that our content is good and
eventually we will do well in India as well for
you need to remember our country is huge
and media penetration is not strong, so we
need to keep working hard to get our
message out."
Talking about Beyhadh Danish says, "We are
confident that this 9 months long finite series
will change the ball game for us in weekday
fiction as The Kapil Sharma Show has done
for us in weekend nonfiction for it is not only
very stylish but it appeals to a more urban
audiences which is our main stay. The fact
that we have already pre shot 30 episodes of
gives us time to work on the story and we
don't need to compromise with quality. I am
very happy with casting, Jennifer Winget,
Kushal Tandon and Aneri Vajani are spot on."
He was happy with the performance of the
soon to be ended Ek Duje ke Vaaste, "For it
too spoke to our urban audiences." Danish
also informs that Sony will launch two or
three more fiction shows in the coming
months. "We will want to have shows
starting from 7 pm onwards. Early Prime will
be more for joint family shows. Prime Time
content will move to more urban settings e.g.
Beyhadh. One more strength of Kuch Rang is
that it appeals to both urban and smaller
town audiences."
