Harsh seems nice. I don't know - I have huge expectations from him on his future choices as well as his acting in Mirzya.
Lol Sonam is not reserved at all. She just stated that she and Kareena can open a film as big or as well as Varun & John. Where does she get this confidence? 😆 It's sad the ladies have to cut their fees but Sonam isn't really a bankable actress and times are extremely tough these days which are making producers really picky about what they greenlight - hope this changes. Though 15 cr is too low ya :/

I don't think Mirzya is going to do well - in fact, I can feel the insecurity in both of their voices about the success of the film. Just hope he delivers a strong performance and follows it up in Vikram's film.

I don't understand why Sonam gets such a hard time for being arrogant, they both seem to have similar personalities but people will give the benefit of the doubt to male actors. If a male actor is opinionated and confident it is because he is smart and knows what he wants, and if a female actor does the same it is because she is delusional and arrogant etc etc.
That said, I enjoyed this interview. They are both smart kids who have made the most of their privilege, and they have some entitlement issues too, but on the whole it is going to come down to talent. I think Harsh will have it easier than Sonam because he is smart enough to identify talented directors and attach himself to them, plus he is a guy. But it will be interesting to watch.

(1) Sonam is not a good conversationalist at all. This is supposed to be more of her brother's moment as he is being introduced to the audience, but rather than trying to pick apart his brain and making him come across as likeable, she only managed to pose 1-2 questions and spent the rest of the time telling her own stories. They also drove the conversation towards failure very fast...which is just such a bad move at a time like this. Understandably, that's probably their living room conversation and internal monologue right now, but the Mirzya marketing team probably should have stopped them from putting that skew on things.

(2) Sonam needs to realize that producers run a business, not a social work charity for advancement or equality. They're only going to give the money that they believe has some chance of being returned, perhaps with some investment and times are tough because people are not going to watch just any old movie these days. If the makers take all that money, create an inadequate movie and people don't come out to watch it, who is responsible and will shoulder the financial losses? So kiddo, take baby steps...first make GOOD movies that connect with the audience in a small budget, movies which make them want to come to see you, make you actually bankable and then pitch the conversation for great amounts. She complained about cutting down on her own fees...but why take any fee at all if you really want to make a movie for sheer creativity's sake, have safety blankets and can take the risk? Take a share from the profit, if it makes any. And production/management is always littered with challenges and problems...that's the whole job, to make it work, to make it go smoothly...it's not going to be handed out on a platter.

(3) Can Harsh REALLY handle the BW pressure? Doesn't really look like it at the moment.

(4) SLB is a grade A ass. Ranbir mentioned in an interview about how he was berated and screamed at on Sawaariya sets and Sonam doesn't have a fond experience of that shoot either. He must be a total menace.

I agree with your other points, but this is something I want to respond to. You are absolutely right that films are a profit making business and producers will decide where to take a risk, but the risk taking approach really varies with women and men, which is the point she was trying to make. A Varun Dhawan can get a huge budget greenlighted just on the basis of a couple of hits (which is when Dishoom was launched) but an Anushka Sharma wont get the same for an NH10. And it's not like the huge investments in male actors have paid off. Look at Tiger Shroff and "Flying Jatt" or whatever that was. So I think the question is, how is the profitability of an actor determined, and why are the rules different for men and women?
