The one sane man
The only person I find acting sanely is Tai's husband, Ashok. He is totally secure in himself and his marriage. He knows his status - he knows society is made of different types of people, he knows his wife is mesmerized with Asha and her romantic trysts with Ashish and he knows his wife longs to have a child.
He also knows how straight he is, he knows he is not overtly romantic though he loves his wife a lot, he pines for a child too - but he knows either way God's blessings are with them, he knows Asha's family are full of 'drama baaz' type of people who are not entirely in touch with reality, but he respects them anyway and adores his wife for being friends with this family who everybody else including him would prefer to avoid.
