Kareena Kapoor Khan is the queen of millions of hearts, many of which she broke by announcing her marriage to Saif Ali Khan. They are known as Bollywood's royal jodi', but Kareena says she rejected Saif Ali Khan's proposal initially due to her career.
Kareena and Saif tied the knot in 2012 after a five-year relationship. The actress opened up about her personal life when she became part of a new chat show.
When the show's host Kamal Sidhu asked Kareena how Saif proposed to her, she said that he proposed twice because she turned him down the first time. "He actually proposed to me a couple of months after we met only in Paris. In fact, his father (Indian cricketing legend Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi aka Tiger Pataudi) proposed to his mother (veteran actress Sharmila Tagore) also in Paris when she was shooting a film An Evening in Paris'. And we were on a holiday in Paris as well and I was just like Yeah, of course'," Kareena said in a statement.
The actress, who is expecting her first baby with Saif, said that the first proposal happened when they were at the Ritz Hotel in Paris. "I think it was at the bar and then I think I said no and then there was one more time, in the same trip, and then we were at the Notre Dame Church. I was just like let's not talk about it. Because I was into my career and I was like let me think about it' and obviously two days later I was like Yeah'," she added.
So, did Saif get down on one knee for the proposal? "No, that's just the image that he has, but he's far from that," Kareena said.
Kareena is flaunting her baby bump without holding back on glamour. We cannot stop gushing over her recent outings where her fashion statement was on point. Talking about breaking the news to family Kareena reveals that Saif was VERY excited. "I think the best compliment is that every day when he sees me, he's like, "I love you more when you're pregnant. And I think you should just continuously be pregnant" and I was like, "Oh God, no!"
These were not the only Bebo-isms that Kareena gave out on the show. Kareena was in a candid mood and talked about not liking Saifeena' and size-zero'.
Kareena on being asked about how she feels that Saifeena' is a brand now, she candidly replied that she thinks its awful...awful'. "And Saif keeps making fun, he's like "yeah, we'll name our child Saifeena". That's like a bit of you and a bit of me!" she further added. That would really be funny. Given the fact that Shahid Kapoor and Mira also named their baby Misha, Saifeena won't be a good idea.
Kareena, soon after Jab We Met , introduced Bollywood with size zero trend, with Tashan. Bebo co-starred with hubby Saif Ali Khan, and you might think that her size zero avatar is what left Nawab smitten, but you're wrong. She says "My husband always tells me, "I don't like size zero", he likes the more curvy, rounded kind of women, the typical Indian, Kamasutra-ish kind of woman." Ahem- Ahem. A very bold statement for Indian TV we say, but again, that is Kareena for you. Part catty, part witty and pure awesome.
