Priya, Mani was not shown like this earlier. Yes. He was opinionated about Raman but always understands when a point is made. But they completely destroyed hiis character to glorify Shagun
Bhuvana, I did have respect for Mani earlier and I did not hate him. But I do have my complaints against him :- He was opinionated towards Raman and he even wanted Ishita to leave Raman, because he felt Raman and his children were the root cause of all the problems in Ishita's life. I was disappointed there because no real friend would give such a pathetic suggestion. Will going away from a spouse's life, solve the problems?.😲 .Is that how a friend wishes for the welfare of another friend?🥱. But even after that, I had some respect for him because he behaved as a thorough gentleman and true friend, till he proposed Ishita after the leap. It was like, he was trying to use the situation in his favor, when he very well knew the extent of love Ishita has for Raman. IMO, Ishita staying away from Raman does not mean that he can try his luck again right? I somehow could not connect to him after that. But even then I was OK with him. He let me completely down in the PS scene during Alia molestation fiasco. I did take it as a father reacting impulsively seeing his daughter in that state, though his rude behavior with Ishita and calling her to be partial was completely not justified. I was even OK with Mani advising Ruhi, though not completely satisfied.
But this acid attack track, I have completely lost all respect I had for this character. No true friend can do such a disgusting, revengeful, backstabbing to any friend and that too when he happens to be the soulmate and the most trustworthy confidant, as per Ishita herself. A true friend hurting another friend on the most painful weakpoint of hers is totally not acceptable for me. IMO, when revenge and betrayal enters in friendship, I would definitely not want to be a friend again with that person for lifetime. I may forgive him but would not be friend with him/her again in my lifetime. Just my thoughts. No offence meant.
Yes, Mani has been butchered for glorifying shagun to a considerable extent, but we also got to witness his impulsiveness when it came to his closed ones earlier. I feel that may be that we were not used to seeing Mani in tough situations often and these two incidents only reveal that Mani is no great human than Raman and is also equally impulsive and selfish when it comes to his near & dear ones. Just my thoughts. 😊.
