You people have said everything.. Its quite debatable and very sensitive topic. A lot of things need to be considered..

In a rare case like Aruna Shanbag, I would say it needs to be considered.. When the victim is beyond cure, and death is the only solution to end the pains.. But again, even in her case, it was said that her internal senses were working, she was just unable to communicate to the outer world because she had lost all those abilities. So I am not sure if that is justified

In this hotel case, Shibani did the right thing. ATU does not have authority to take that decision, neither they can let people kill themselves openly like this. Its not allowed by law. And they just can't assume that those affected by the virus can't be cured when the top notch pharma companies are working on finding a medicine.

Naseem, i myself a confused soul 😆, so thts y i culd understand ur dilemma ...😆 ... and thts y i said u hv written so well abt tht confusion...
Its always a problem, when options r given, its confuses us or definitely me😳😆...

Ok coming bck to topic, s as sophie said, not thinking on ethical, unethical, legal, illegal point of view,
Just on humantarian grounds i wuld go with th option of cyanide capsules for those hotel residents..

But as as the other member said, there r no assurance tht pharma companies will not come up with a vaccine till all those people die.,..so here even we cant decide anything concrete due to many things considerable..,
Wht if they comeup with the vaccine and remaining lives culd be saved..so this decision is still at stake...

I don't think they will show something as silly as giving cyanide capsules to 400 people.. But then with the plot holes as big as craters on the moon, anything is possible in this serial.

That said, if your question is taken in general, it is a tough decision. The person who is in pain or dying is not considered to be fit enough to decide for himself/herself.

It is for the care takers to decide if they want to show mercy and kill someone or provide palliative care.

Even if you put aside the religious, moral and political aspect of the question, fundamental thing is that the person who takes the decision might have to live with guilt for the rest of their life. That alone makes it a difficult choice. This is just my opinion...
