Desi TV audience have been taken for a ride by the CVs for too long, it is understandable if they are not ready to trust this team.
If people want to see what they signed up for, that's a "romantic story" that's promoted, they'll be demanding, given this show's low ratings & Sony's track record for ending shows sooner than other GECs. It's not easy to please a wide section of audience and that's name of the game in mass entertainment..
Apart from the stupid PreKar romance & shadi, I enjoyed all the episodes and can appreciate the efforts that have gone into it in delivering.
I'm cool with what they are doing now in the absence of FL and I trust this bunch of CVs more than other PHs. And based on how this show ends, i might trust them little more next time.
I might tune out if they continue with the horrible costume designer, for not all the leads can look smashing like Namik & Nikki.
Audience trust is to be earned, can't be taken for granted and demanded as a right. Let the team continue to entertain me, I'll continue to trust them.
You've youself put forth all of the PH and creatives' constraints in your post - new bunch, new PH, low trp, short show life, budget, actor availability...
Now you start with saying that audience has, for long, been taken for ride by other shows and PH.. So there is a lot of distrust.. Any relationship started on distrust will not last long...coz when faith is missing, its like we are almost always hoping for bad story, bad execution and when that happens we just say ..oh see! We told you so!!! So far this show has shown tracks that look good in a flow and have given a graph to the characters and their relationship(am not going to comment whether the graph looks good or bad, all I know it helps define the story).. So I feel we should go by tehir recent history and this time show some faith and patiently let the track unfold...
Another thing, audience expected this is to be a love story...thats how it was promoted...agreed!! But the show started the first episode establishing that shravan and suman ALREADY love each other... So unless the graph goes from ignorance-hate-love-hate and then back to love, how would we have a journey, a story? A great story is one which has a high point a low point and then a climax...The story has to have a bell curve graph I feel to give the good feel... Every track has given their childhood love a little more understanding, a little more meat, a little more props to grow stronger... They have established that this is not your regular love at first sight story... This is a long cherished love, grown over decades and unfulfilled for most oart of their time, it is like this wine, the longer its fermented the better it would taste..
Earning trust is the right phrase..so far the production house has delivered a well rounded story and we should now trust them.. I think they surely have earned it... They deserve our patience now, I feel...dont you?
