Hello, I am Pari. This is my first post in this forum. I had been intending to write about this for a really long time. When the promos for this show were out, I fell in love with Sumo, her confidence, self respect and ability to take the right decisions. But, ever since Nirmala-Shravan face-off has happened, I don't know what the writers were thinking. The character of Sumo started going downhill from then. She brings Shravan's mom whom he and his family can't stand at all, that too without his permission. When things go out of hands, she says sorry but she isn't sorry. I mean if you aren't sorry then don't say sorry. But, Sumo wants to be goody goody girl yet wants to prove her point. When Ramnath comes with his amazing offer, he asks her to stay away from Shravan but ma'am goes two steps ahead and hurts him time and again. When Aditya entered, Sumo decided to make Shravan jealous to make him realize his feelings when things were alright going wrong between them. And don't get me started on her self respect drama. In all the "liberal and modern" families, the wedding expenses are divided equally between both families. If one family can afford much, the other family funds in a little more. Gone are the days when girl's family paid for all the expenses. The Malhotras were ready to fund in because they had some dreams about the wedding in their family. But, Sumo makes it an issue of self respect which it wasn't at all and shattered every dream of theirs. Yet, she becomes the poor girl. Some forum members even said that Malhotras were asking for dowry in form of big fat wedding. If they are ready to pitch in some money, how does it become dowry? Sumo blaming Shravan hurting self respect was totally baseless. Don't we take help from our family and friends? I know she always felt like she has to repay her "loans" or rather made to feel like that but lashing out everyone whose trying to help you is plain ego. I liked Shravan's attitude today. This girl got to know how it feels when things don't go as you want. Putting your wishes and "self respect" over other's feelings, wishes and dreams is not cool. The way Sumo blantly refused to change her wedding plans even slightly for Shravan and Malhotras is downright rude and I am glad Shravan gave back in the most befitting way.

I know I am going to receive a lot of flak for this post but I thought things were needed to be seen in more practical way and through a different light.

Thanks for reading.
Pari

I think I can safely say that you voiced what most of us feel. Strong and independent has its place, but never to the point that it makes you rigid and uncompromising. Marriage means willing to compromise both for the boy and the girl.

The boy wants to have a night out with friends once in a while the girl compromises. The girl wants him to accompany her for shopping he goes chup chap with her. There should be give and take in any relationship.

Sumo should start being a giver... not as in what she wants but what Shravan wants. He has been a giver as a kid and once he realises that Sumo loves him he would again be willing to give her anything she desires. For that she needs to show him that his needs are very important to her.

no offence.. but sumo was also right.. she gave him option.. during preekar's marriage, pushkar agreed to preeti's demand.. because he wanted to see her happy.. but here sharavan consider only his..
Sumo's dialogue really touched my heart.. "mere chote se sapne ko usne bilkul hi chota bana diya.."😭

sharavan should not have done that.. now when they will confess their love and clear their MU.. then sharavan will arrange their marriage like sumo always wished..😳

During Preekar wedding, she never gave any choice to anyone. It was her and Nanu's decision entirely. Pushkar agreed because he loved Preeti. That was Pushkar's big heartedness. As for today, I felt bad for Shravan. Though, he knew she would do her way only, he tried to convince her and said please. She blantly refused. The compromise she suggested wasn't really worth it. Her rant was too annoying. I tried hard but I didn't feel a thing for Sumo. That's totally my POV.

Thank god someone is with me.. I m also not feeling a bit sad for sumo..
The way she replied was totally blunt,, she didn't think even once? And she didn't even let him complete the sentence and just said pls shravan.. In PreeKar shaadi too she did same thing she didn't care about other side at all.. It's always her family her nanu her self respect.. In love, we care about each other's family but sumo didn't care about shravan family at all.. Sorry but I think Ramhoe was right..
Marriage is of 2 persons and shravan was right she was not marrying alone she was getting married with him...
I m not on shravan side what he did in past few episodes was annoying but what he did yesterday was right he was not TEDHA at that time.. He asked her softly.. And also asked her that is this ur final answer..
I totally agree with u.. 👏

True. Shravan is no saint. He has done his share of mistakes. But, I like the fact that he accepts them. He knows what he did is wrong atleast to himself. Sumo refuses to accept that she can go wrong someday. Shedding tears doesn't rectify your mistakes.

Girl u r telling all my points.. I have written a post about this difference . Shravan always realize his mistakes and feel guilty but sumo never realize her mistakes.. Nobody is MAHAAN.. Neither sumo nor shravan...
Cheers we share same thoughts.. 😊
