Does Amitabh really care for a male Heir?

From reading his letters, the subsequent discussion and traces of patriachy in all his statements do you think he is really big on a male heir for the Bachchan parivar?

There is no pukhta saboot. But yes, I think he badly wanted(/wants) one and, and it explains why he isn't that enthu about Ash's career post motherhood. It probably bothers him a lot that she is going to work without giving the Bachchan family its heir.

Pata nahi... even if he cares, where will a male heir come from? 😆

Yes. He does not consider Agastya his heir.

He did care about it 3-4 years back, now he is indifferent . I guess he has accepted that it may not happen.

If he does why is he being looked down? I was born and raised in USA, have friends from every culture and religion their parents and grandparents all want an heir.

i think he'd have preferred a grandson but he has given up by now

It's awfully strange how he does not seem to bother about Agastya being his heir when he loves to portray how much he dotes & adores the women of the family esp his daughter & her daughter. His equation with Ash, I've always found very creepy. There isn't any other word for it, he has calmed down now publicly but my God! The first few years she seemed more his bride than his son's until he called her "Bahuraani." He definitely is huge on patriarchy & 'waaris'so he gives off this potent vibe of wanting a male heir.. I don't doubt his love & care for Aaradhya, but at the back of his mind it seems to rankle & fester, this fact of not having a "heir" from the real 'waaris' of his illustrious family, Abhishek. It's never happening so he should just give up hope now (if he truly has any)


I don't believe any of this conveniently timed BS that he regularly tries to dupe us with. He's just a refined patriarchal man wrapped up in Egoism & Sexism. He comes off as a badly-intentioned hypocrite in the garb of tradition & culture; ESP after the hell he put his wife through, it just makes you want to laugh & shut the proverbial door on his face. 😡

This is their personal matter and Hippo cannot tell what is in his heart
