The sun was shining bright in the blue sky, the wind blew as softly as it could to not disturb the perfectly plaited hair. A little girl with plaits ran after a little boy.
Prettily dressed in her little yellow frock, She laughed while following him.Suddenly, he turned around made a face at her. The girl stopped in her tracks and stuck her tongue out at the little boy dressed in blue.
The boy smiled this time. Suddenly the girl heard the voice of an icecream halker. She said " I want to eat ice cream "
He looked at the ice cream truck and back to her again, "Come on Ai! I'll get your favorite cookies and cream ice cream." The little boy took the little girl's hand in his and they both ran in sync towards the ice cream truck with a big grin. They jumped on it and looked through the various flavors from strawberry to vanilla, butterscotch to blackcurrant. But Ai pointed towards the flavor she always liked.
The boy turned to the man and asked for two chocolate icecreams. The girl looked at the boy, grinning from ear to ear, "what?" said the little boy, blushing a little. She gave him a little kiss on the cheek, "how did you know I like chocolate ice cream?"
Om chuckled, "I'm your best friend, I know it". Ai got a huge smile on her face. Om tightened the grip of her hand while they both waited for the ice cream.
"Here you go sweeties!" The ice cream man handed over the cones to them two. Omkara fished through his pocket and took out all the coins that he had. "One quarter is 25 paise.. One.. Two.. Three.. Four.." He mentally counted as he placed the coins on the counter. "Mr. Bill, I think that's one Rupee." He looked up at the ice cream man. "You are one smart little kid, it sure is my boy. Now go eat away your ice creams" He waved to them as Ai gleamed with pride seeing how smart her best friend was.
As the little girl continued to smile at her smart friend, the little boy blushed harder each time, making his face turn completely red. The girl realised her friend was getting redder, "Om, are you okay? I think you have a fever because you have gone red." The boy touched his face and shook his head, "no i think its just really hot here." But the girl still didn't agree "no i think you have fever because the weather isn't so bad Om."
Ai was about to touch his forehead but Om held her hand, " I'm fine, Sachi muchi" and smiled. He liked how much she cared for him. Ai was still worried and he sensed that.
He put his little finger on the ice cream and then slightly put the cream on Ai's little nose making her bewildered. He laughed as he ran away.
Aishu stood where she was and tried to wipe the ice cream off with her sleeve, "Om, you just watch what I'll do to you!" And Om continued to laugh as he ran.

13 years later (Ai is 23)

"Ai, hurry, the cap is waiting outside baby!" Alishu, her friend who met her at uni called out as she settled into the backseat.
"Ai, jaldi!!" Kiran became impatient as she started retouching her make up
"Ai, don't forget your glass slippers" Su said
"Chup BaAiSu!" Ai came out of her apartment laughing at her crazy friends.
BaAiSu looked at eye in pure awe, she looked more beautiful than ever in her black dress.
"Kya hua girls?" Ai asked, she was confused why her talkative friends suddenly quietened down.
BaSuKi were dumbstruck. Ai in her glass slippers and black tube dress with open hair was looking drop ded Gorgeous. "Are you trying to kill the boys out there?" said Ba. "Uggh I should stop getting ready anymore, Ai ko hi sab dekhenge ab" Ki winked. "OMG!! My Ai is looking like a Greek Goddess baby ". Listening to so many wonderful compliments Ai blushed. She settled on the front seat and said " Tum log bhi na " and smiled.
The girls reached the party where Nikki and Angel are standing in the entrance and they wave at BaAiSuKi
"Woah! You guys look fabulous, especially Ai" nikki hugs them
"Wow guys you guys are making heads turn" angel says as they hug
"Angel baby and nikki baby, you guys look beautiful yourself!" Says BaAiSuKi
Then the music comes on and Ai's favourite song places
"OMG is Meow here kya?" Ai says as she slowly moves to the music
"Kyun?" Everyone else asks
"Just coz I'm missing her, LOL" Ai chuckled. Just then Meow appears and said "Aa behen gale lag ja, I'm here". Ai giggles and they hug, while the others burst into laughter.

Om is sitting with a brush in his hands caressing the hair of his new sculpture. Just then Rudra enters.
" O, aap abhi tak baithe ho. Get ready for the party".
Om, without taking off his eye from the sculpture, said "Rudra, mera jaana zaroori hai kya. Tujhe to pta hai na mujhe parties me interest nahi hai"
"Ofcourse zaroori hai bhaiya, please chalo na" Rudra insist making a puppy face. "Wahan ladkiya bhi hongi" he winks.
Om slightly smiles at his naughty bro and says "Theek
hai gimme 5 minutes"
Rudra looks at the new sculpture and says " Bhaiya, ye kon hai? Itni khoobsurat sculpture kiska hai"
Om looks from Rudra to the sculpture, smiles and loving touch the cheeks of the sculpture and say
"Khayalo me wo roz hai aayi(Ai),
Na jaane kaisa hai ye fasaana,
Dhoond raha hoon use kabse,
Na jaane kab poora hoga ye afsaana"
Rudra is baffled " Aap or aapki shayari. Chalo acha ab get ready. Main bhi ja raha hoon sajne"

Girls turned their heads as the two oberoi brothers entered the party.
"O, aaj to tujhe ek gf zarur milegi" Rudra whispered to Om
Om turned to rudra and gave him the "shut up" look.
" Rudra, I don't want to stay for long so don't force me"
"Ha ha O! We'll see. Shivaay bhaiya said you have to stay with me kyun he wants me to behave ma"
"Rudra you're seriously so annoying! Acha I'll stay over there" O said pointed to an empty chair.
Meanwhile BaAiSuKi and their friends we're enjoying themselves to the fullest.
"Guys, I need to sit down, my head is spinning." Ai said to her friends.
"Ai baby, go sit on that empty chair over there" said su
"We'll come with you baby" said Ba
"No guys, enjoy your food here, i'll sit over there for a bit and I'll be fine"
"Acha, here babe take this" Ki gave eye a packet of paracetamol LOL
"Thanks ki, you actually carry these?"
"Yes"
Everyone laughed.

Om made his way towards the chair as did Ai and a *thud* They bumped into eachother, Ai's drink accidently dropped on Om, "OMG! I am so sorry! I didn't see you" Ai said as she tried to wipe the drink using the tissue in her hand.
Om was mesmerised by her beauty and he did no pay heed to what just happened. He kept staring at the beautiful girl infront of him, her big brown eyes shined, her cheeks were pinkish red, she was biting her lips as she was nervous. He savoured every bit of her look.Om was not a guy who paid attention to girls but this girl looked familiar...
"O! Omg! This girl looks like your sculpture!" rudra came barging everyone. Ai looked at him comfused.
Om continued to stare at the beauty infront of him. "She does." He said without taking his eyes off.
Ai's cheeks burned and she tucked hair behind her ear
She gets confused and thinks "Do i know him". She looks up and see him looking at her.
Om says " Mujhe aisa kyu lag raha jaisa main aapko jaanta hoon?" His deep intense eyes looking through her.
Ai hesitantly replies "Magar Main aapko nahin janti". She was a bit confused and turned around to leave.
"Suniye" said Om. She stopped. Her heartbeat racing faster.
As she was about to turn to him again she heard "Ai", friends were calling her. She rushed towards them.
"Ai"- the name brought back
so many memories to Om. He was speechless. He can't believe that he just met his best childhood friend or better say his crush just now.
" Ahaan Ai, Kon tha wo" teased Ba.
"Girl I love his neck" said Ki
"He looks like Jesus" chuckled Su
"OmG Look" said Angel
The girls followed Angel's finger.
"He is coming this way" said Nikki.
Om made his way through the crowd. He stopped inches away from Ai and whispered
"Chaand To Nikla Hai Magar Ye Raat Na Hai Pehli Si,
Ye Mulakat Mulakat Na Hai Pehli Si, Ranj Kuch Kam To Hua Aaj Milne Se, Ye Alag Baat Hai Ke Ye Baat Na Hai Pehli Si..."
Ai held her breath. She was taken aback. She couldn't believe HE was in front of her.
"Om" She said.
Om gave a satisfactory smile. He was glad that she recognized him.
Just then the DJ played
Chand chupa baadal mein
Sharma ke meri jaan
And... Like this Om and Ai swayed to the music, Ai's head on his chest and Om protecting her with his body. Both were perfectly in tune.
