You seem to present your thoughts in a very well structured manner.

Sid's inspiration should be Shraddha and not Alia. I think he should leave the Ittefaq remake. Once again it will be counter productive where he will be compared with Rajesh Khanna. I think rest of his line up is decent and will play on his strengths.

Nice post...I think he might not be a very great actor but he has this natural genuineness in him that leaves you hooked. That does not let you give up on him easily. And its this hope only I go to watch his films for. But having said that I feel he needs to train himself. Just like these people focus so much on gyming/looking fit and all, they regularly need to keep brushing their acting skills as well. It's time Sid starts taking risks and tries to live upto them. Even Alia was pretty amateurish in SOTY and never could I have imagined that she could pull a Highway or a Udta Punjab. Both Varun and Alia seem pretty driven and committed towards their career which Sid too needs to learn in case he has to survive in the industry.

I think Sid needs to shed his inhibitions on-screen and choose more author-backed roles. There is a sense of complacency in his performances that needs to go away.

Nobody gonna come to watch your movie because you are a nice boy or a girl. I hope Sid fans realize how this sober, loving, handsome, nice guy image has become a burden for him. He cannot pull off different roles at all. I am sorry but he doesn't have what it takes to survive in this industry right now.

If i have one advice for Sid and if he really wants to become better and stay in industry, take a 1 year off and learn in New york acting institutes how to emote better. 2nd, he needs to be more loud in everything.

He should choose performance-oriented roles now that allow him to entrench himself in the industry. ----------- Who will give him that kind of role when he is not pulling off a average budget movie with arguably the biggest bollywood actress?! The best and big director (SLB, Kashyap, Hirani, Zoya, Aditya chopra etc) movies requiring hard performances go to Ranbir and Ranveer in new gen actor categories, not even Varun.

One idea would be to come in a movie with really good actresses where he will learn and helps to elevate his performances.. he chose a Katrina movie, she is not considered the best of actresses. But here also the problem is big actresses come with big directors and they choose Khans, ajay, akki, rk and rs for the roles if possible.

Actors can be natural and method. He unfortunately doesn't ace in both modalities. He has to learn. Probably, he never wanted to become actor but he had looks and he thought he would improve...but so far, it's not working.

I wish him the best. He should work with Parineeti..she could bring him out of his reserved self. He is just too dull right now. You got to grab attention in bollywood in some way.

KhanSingh, given the genre, Baar Baar Dekho's costs are high (not average) considering it needs 55 cr just to break even. It was only ever going to appeal to the high end multiplex going audience, as the rest will not be able to relate to it.
