The only role of his I enjoyed was Ek Villain. But acting wise, even that was so hugely overshadowed by Riteish's marvelous stint.


Alia on the other hand, is going way smarter than I would have ever expected. Watching her in SOTY felt like watching Kareena in K3G, overloud, unnecessary stylish diva acting. I thought she would end up sticking to that only. She surprised me and how. For someone who's touted as being dumb, her roles have been so smartly chosen. Granted, she must be getting a lot of varied offers, but choosing well is another issue. She's impressed me. Barring Shandaar, I feel she's done a great set so far. My favorite is still 'Highway' - that last scene is powerful as hell. Even in K&S, I liked how her 'girl-next-door' image wasn't a typical one. Consider me impressed. Looking forward to 'Dear Zindagi'.

sorry to say but Sid isn't a good actor.. he is the new katrina!

However I think Sid's future is limited. He can't pull off a urbane youth perfectly let alone any complicated, deep role. He is just not meant to be an actor. People compare him with John. But I think John never got such thrashing from critics. He doesn't even have a larger than life charm or persona to manage without acting. Unless he miraculously improves, his future is dark.

Sid is not a natural actor and not a good dancer too... He just about manages! I have not watched many of his movies, but he gets overshadowed by his co-actors in most movies... Like Parineeti in HTP and the entire cast of K&S...

True, acting is about instinct, but I also think it's drawing from an experience bank of emotions and letting go of inhibitions. I think Sid can work on that.

Currently, he is going for films he thinks will do well but not necessarily thinking about whether he will fit into the film's landscape and shine. He is trying to think big, but he should focus on the smaller elements of a film- like his performance.

great topic... he does come across as hesitant as an actor... some actors throw themselves completely into the character... that the actor disappears and character shows like ranveer... he needs to get rid of his hesitation and really start doing that...

You have jotted down his flaws & imperfections very well. He really needs to work hard in those areas & he has a scope of doing just that in his coming movies. I hope he puts in a lot more effort .

Mahesh Bhatt said that the cast for Aashiqui 3 is not finalised, so I'm worried Sidharth might end up losing that project .
