1) Its not small towners we are talking about here.... Its about people from relatively remote areas... GEOGRAPHICALLY
2) Towards the end of it she shed the image of being the poor little girl who worked in a PCO.... She was a smart girl who dressed pretty well... Never gave out "goody good" vibes post stardom (Other than on the day of the results when she went back to talking about what she was before SRGMP) ... U need to constantly keep reminding the audience😉....
One thing I have noticed is that the audience doesnt like people who come out as a totally different person post makeover.... Or people who have this Cool image about themselves...You know people with this "Cool Dude" or "Glamdoll" image are never liked by the audience.... That explains why Panna Gill, Mauli Dave and the like... inspite of being good lost...
You need to have this "GOODY GOOD charming little kid" image.... Qazi Touqueer... Inspite of this punk long hair was a smooth talker and gave out constant vibes of being an "achcha insaan"... And he won because tht, not his voice(No offence to Qazi fans).....
That explains why Ruprekha Bannerjee, inspite of being female, won Fame Gurukul... She is one of the few female contestants in any reality show who managed to keep up that "Sweet Little girl" image (Largely because of her inability to speak in Hindi)
Antara who hails from a rural area had the support of the masses till she got her "glamorous" image... Even "Choti si Prajakta" lost after her pop star-ish performances.. That explains why relatively simple Abhijeet Sawant won.. (All of them were talented)...
According to me... The audience is "Makeover Phobic"... or "Glamour Phobic" ( Apart from being regionalistic :P)And the girls who are quick to get this makeover to don revealing outfits and heavy makeup post stardom are the most obvious victims...
A dropdead Glamoruos Girl or Guy would never win... The audience doesnt seem to think of good looking people as having good hearts ... If girls need to win... They need to follow the Ruprekha Example... and the Numero Uno rule is... No skimpy outfits .. No heavy makeup... No funky hairdos if it makes u look "Cool" or "hot" instead of plain "Cute" 😉
I enjoyed reading your post, well written. Now, I agree with nice/cute gal/guy concept... going with that only see my views on a previous post below
So acknowleding that concept(nice/cute) and more girl voters .... how do you think end result will be more influenced by😉 unless there is no cute/nice guy around 😆lolsssss... as before there are other factors involved too...am not denying that.
