I hear you girl, and I've observed the same thing. When it comes to Hollywood, actors work interchangeably in movies and serials. For example, Jennifer Aniston has worked in movies and Eva Green in TV series. They're paid equally well, and held in equal esteem. But this cannot be said about Bollywood. Although the gap has reduced considerably in the last few years, there's still a prominent divide between the small and large screen actors. This makes actors think that they have made it big only if they succeed in the large screen, whereas they work equally hard, maybe even more, and sometimes serials reach out to more people than movies do.
I guess this entire notion needs to change - the whole idea that Hindi movies are bigger than daily soaps. And this can happen only when the quality of daily soaps improves. We need better plots, better execution, and in some cases, better actors. Maybe then we'll be able to bridge the gap between the two.
