The actress, who was born and brought up in Madhya Pradesh, lives in a 2 bedroom-hall-kitchen in Powai, Mumbai with her husband and a cute daughter.
Being a true follower of Feng shui, every corner of Jennifer's house has been spiritually decorated. She is a Parsi and married to a Hindu. Jennifer and her husband came to Mumbai in 2004 and in the same year, they bought this house in Mumbai.
Jennifer Mistry said, "Believe it or not, whosoever comes to my house feels very positive. The entire house is very colorful because I love colours. Initially, my husband did not approve this colour concept; but now he is happy too.
I am an ardent follower of Feng Shui and so every corner of my house has been decorated with Feng shui. I am a firm believer in Vastu also. Even my kitchen is decorated according to the discipline of Vastu Shastra. In short, every corner of my house has got some or other significance in it. This is a dream house for me and I love every corner of it."
Before coming to Mumbai, the couple stayed in Chennai for two and a half years and Hyderabad for few months.
She had a love marriage with Mayur Basiwal in Jabalpur in 2001. He was a software engineer for 15 years. He left his job to pursue photography and acting, passions that he has nursed for years. Mayur has done lots of advertisements. Her husband, Mayur now has a professional studio and is popular among the industry members by his nickname, Bobby.
Jennifer practices Nichiren Buddhism. Each room has a character of its own. There's plenty of natural light inside the home, giving it a cheery feel to the environs.
Jennifer has done M.com and M.A (English literature).
She has also done diploma in Kathak for eight years; diploma in folk music for 2 years.
She did plays with Nadira Babbar for three years before joining the team of Taarak Mehta.
Last year, she has also started her own jewelry business supplying it on rent in production houses.
Jennifer's daughter, Lekissha was born in 2013.
