This might be a weird question but I have been wondering for a while.

So all the Aamir movies in the last few years have been breaking all records which is great, but is it just the strong plot/toryline and message that are making the movie that big of a success and/or Aamir the star too? I know I know, most would say it's a combination but, if tomorrow Aamir does a shitty movie (no/weak plot), would it still do as well and break all records, as is the case with salman Khan?

Salman has been doing some pretty good movies lately (BB, sultan) but even his other 'nonsensical' movies do great BO wise, so would the same be the case with Aamir too or are bis movies that successful because of the content?

It's more to do with the trust that he has created in the minds of the viewers/audience who goes to watch movies of Aamir. After Lagaan and DCH, he started winning the audience's trust and this matters a lot too. As well as the promotions and the curiosity to watch the movie.
