- Kareena-
1. Jab We Met by miles: Geet will go down in history as one of the most loved and memorable character of all time. It is a cult pop culture figure.
2. Omkara: One of the few movies where Kareena was actually acting and not being her annoying self. It is arguably her most stuble and restrained acting performance.
3. Dev: It was quite a gutsy performance by Kareena, her role was one of the brighter roles in quite a grim movie. Although I don't think she deserved the critics filmfare award, but this role was really well acted by her.
4. Udta Punjab: Although I still few in some moments she went into Geet mode, but it was really nice to see a restrained and dignified protrayal by Kareena again.
5. Chameli: It was a really breakthrough role for Kareena, and she did a good jon, although I feel a more experienced actress would have nailed it, still she did a more than better job.
Honourable Mentions: We are Family, Kurbaan, Refugee.
Deepika-1. Chennai Express: I know Piku would be majority choice but IMO it is Chennai Express where Deepika showed much more range and her change of accent was really commendable. Meena will be her most memorable and iconic role. Just like Kareena's iconic Geet.
2. Piku: Piku is her defining moment IMO. The movie which kind of completed her journey. I know she has loads to offer, but this is more like her "Queen". She did a really good job in her control of the emotions. I know she is called one note for this role, but Piku was an one note character. Plus her Bengali mannerism was respectablely good.
3. Yeh Jawani Hain Deewani: Another of her iconic role, Naina Talwar is the role which won Deepika many fans especially girls. As performance in this movie was not only memorable but also believable and relatable. She should do more movies with Ayan.
4. Cocktail: Her breakthrough role, the role which made people take notice of her as an actress instead of a glam doll. She was outstanding as the care free Veronica. Although as the movie became she hammed her way.5. Tamasha: Although she did again hammed in some emotional scenes, but she was a warm presences in other wise fcuked up movie. In some of the scenes she was really good, although script and the focus defeated her. She should have gotten more focus in the movie IMO.
Priyanka- 1. Barfi: Jhilmil was such an brilliant acting performance, that it will last in history as long as BW is there. Priyanka not only looked the part as an innocent but also protrayed jealousy and helplessness with perfection.
2. Fashion: Meghna Naidu was just flawless. Although Kangana gave an unforgettable performance, Priyanka did great to hold her own in this glamour world Drama. Her character development was the key to the movie, and Priyanka nailed it with perfection. Her ability to display arrogance, innocence, pity, happiness, hope and despair were masterful.
3. Mary Kom: Although I really don't approve of her protraying Mary Kom, as it seems quite racist. But I will forgive the movie maker as Priyanka was absolutely brilliant. Whether as a teenaged Mary or Mary who entered motherhood, she was just pin point. An inferior actor would have overacted but Priyanka was totally on command of the role.
4. Whats Your Rashee: She potrayed 12 Character, all varied, and she was great in all roles, it is just pity the movie had Harman and was after Ashutosh lost his magic touch.
5. Bajirao Mastani: It was really difficult to choose between BM, Aitraaz, Kaminey and Anjana Anjani, but I finally choosed BM. Her Kashi bai chewed the role like it was a cake walk. While Aitraaz and Kaminey had her doing some really intense and sparkling show, but BM saw her match Ranveer but also overshadow Deepika like anything.
Vidya-
1. The Dirty Picture: The role which made Vidya, the powerhouse. The movie was portrayed /marketed as a cheap C-grade sex flick, but it was definitely one of the best movies of this decade and one of the main reason was Vidya's flawless portrayal of Reshma/Silk.
2. Kahaani: One of the greatest thriller of all time, any language. And Vidya was again flawless. She never missed a note, it was such an accurately pulled act which perfectly complemented the tensed thrilled theme of the movie.
3. Paa: Such an beautiful movie about the mother, son relationship. And Amitabh and Vidya Balan were not only convincing but also had great rapport and chemistry.
4. Ishqiya: Just one bloody word, Chutiyam Sulfate.
5. Bhool Bhulaiyya: Although Vidya has done many excellent roles in No One Killed Jessica, Parineeti, Hamari Adhuri Kahani, Bobby Jasoos, Shaadi Ke Side Effects, but I choose Bhool Bhulaiyya. The way she balanced the aggression of Mongolika and innocence of Avni with beautiful penance, brought a new variation and freshness in a role which has been portrayed by so many different artists.
