Well I don't think people despise Dev Dixit. He will grow into a better person due to all these passing phases.
And to say that the production ruined the character.. no I don't think it at all.. Dev Dixit from day one needed to grow as an individual. He has grown to be good, manipulative businessman but had always flaws in personal life. At atleast till date I would say Shaheer has adopted Dev Dixit outstandingly.
About stalking and sulking and going into depression, I thing the character of Dev Dixit needs that isn't it?... He is not a flirt personality to just get over breakup and start acting as a businessman. He will continue to do that and that will start the story of Mrs. IShwari Dixit and Mrs. Sonakshi Dev Dixit.

We love both Dev and Shaheer equally... These days Sonakshi is shown correct because she is. And I think when she realises that any other man would do the same in that panic situation she will also grow into a woman who would really know how to handle the difficult Dev.
I think this talk will come from Sona and Dada convo... He was the person who told her to join as a personal nutritionist. He was the one to tell her that someday Dev would understand her feeling and now he would be the one to show that she needs to trust her love...

What's the fun in playing a perfect guy every time Shaheer takes up a new role?
What's wrong in playing an insensitive, ill mannered or rude guy? He is playing Dev to a T making us hate him in one episode and gushing over him in another!
I am sure he will be bored to death if he plays a good guy all the time.
He is a smart guy and he surely knows what he is doing and what is damaging for his career!
Love Dev Dixit the way he is, flawed and all. This journey with Sona will make him a better person and Dev will be a character remembered for a long time!
Thanks Shaheer for taking up this role!

I dont actually think you have watched the iv of shaheer where he clearly said that the producer always calls him to remind him that dev is not your typical hero...he is a character with his own set of flaws...he is imperfect and thats what makes him real.

Dev from the very beginning is shown as a stubborn guy who even got sona fired from her job because he needed her for his mother...so no he hasnt changed much.

On the other hand you cant compare typical lovestories with kuch rang which actually represents realistic complications in different relationships.

I personally would like to thank yash patnaik for giving us a character who might not be perfect, but he still touches your heart and makes you love him

I can understand your frustration and the reasons for feeling Dev's character has been neglected ...you might have felt that seeing the no of posts in the forum for past few days where every other post was against Dev but many were sympathizing with Sona's character...they are people who are being neutral and appreciating Dev ..I can't speak for others but for me Dev was and will be the favorite character in the show ...nothing can change that ...

Another reason why I feel people can relate to Sonakshi more is ..it's a simple character with a supporting family and her life is sorted whereas Dev is a very complex character born in a complicated family and not many people can relate to

Let me very honest here ..I did feel they butchered his character a little bit during the separation track by making him say hurtful words like kis haq se when this guy has always treated Sona with respect and has not even raised his voice during their courtship period ...I could relate to his impulsive decisions but certain dialogues could have been avoided ...I feel this was to justify the third angle entry and to justify his relationship with the female lead ...even I am not happy with Dev stalking people. ..I want a track where we see him concentrating on his career for a change and showing his journey as a successful businessman rather than stalking people ...but Cvs have their own plan

Thanks for understanding the point I made. Yes. I am frustrated at the way the break up scene was handled. There is no need to make him look so uncivilised and rude. An amicable break up would have worked well. As for the third angle entry Sona's parents can any time fetch a suitor for her, they have the right to do so. No need to show Dev the way they did.
Like you said, they should have shown him his journey as a businessman and explore his other traits.
And stalking? That should be the limit.
