It was a lovely episode tonight. Bittersweet and poignant. Both were missing each other so much and suffering.
Ishwari going on trying to pretend that everything is just fine and she's refusing to see how miserable Dev is looking. It is laughable that GKB is noticing his misery and telling her to do something about it fast, before he brings Sonakshi back into his life. Even GKB can see he's still hung up on her.

But Ishwari's manipulative side rears her head. Pretending to be very generous to Sonakshi, she arranges for an alliance to get her get married off and even more out of Dev's orbit. Its a purely selfish act, because she didn't ask much about the guy other than his good looks and occupation. Get off your high horse, Ishwari, you dont get to be congratulated for your great benevolence.

GKB pointed it out best. She herself wouldn't have thought up such a plan. Can't get Dev married, so get Sonakshi married off. I smell trouble from this one act of Ishwari's...

The Bose family will hate it that she sent that broker. Sonakshi will be very angry about it too. That she was being manipulated into marrying Ishwari's choice. She wanted her parents to choose, not Dev's mother!

Not to mention how mad Dev would be to know his mother would do such a thing. I hope GKB does this service and tells him that his mother was so Mahaan in sending Ritwik's alliance.

Poor Tina got the brunt for his angry shot putt throw of his phone. Even that one last piece of her (voice recording) is gone. Don't you know you don't need those things, Dev. Sonakshi is in your heart and thoughts. You're with her all day long. You need sleeping pills to stop thinking of her.

It is bittersweet to watch them both try hard at moving on. Sonakshi has started a new job. Her family celebrates and stays by her side, allow her to grieve but still are around and very observant of her grief. She still pines for him, hopes to hear his voice on the phone , every time he doesn't make any attempt she grieves a little more.

The result is Sonakshi is so far away from Dev. He doesn't even get a glimpse of her. No news , nothing. He stops himself from his natural tendency to want to call her. Why? Because the reason for his heartbreak is still there. Ma doesn't like Sonakshi. Ma looks a lot happier now. That's what he always wanted.

I loved the song segment with the short time leap. Very nicely done writers! Everything feels natural and smooth. Except Ishwari sending Ritwik's rishta to Bose family. Very underhanded of her.

p/s: will reply later.. its so very late now. Goodnight!

Beautiful post. Loved the episode.
Shaheer n Erica were brilliant. They make us go through their emotions n helplessness so much that at the end we also will be sucked into a vortex of these emotions. I loved what Ishwari did today. She pulled the trigger and set to motion something so unexpected from what she dreamed. Now Dev can do the rest n Rithwik will help Sona be strong n healed by the time the confrontation occurs. Brilliant episode. Looking forward for the rest of the journey.

Dev's movement in that house is so monotonous and he taking the blessings too became like an exercise routine for him..😆

And Ishh is very much blinding herself not to see anything.. Everyone knows everything.. Just people pick what they want to see.. her own dialogue.. And she believes if Dev too chooses to see what she wants to see then everything will be like earlier..

I see that you feel Ishwari's manipulations are setting in motion events that will force Dev into claiming Sonakshi back with conviction.

Dev is miserable, and he knows Sonakshi enough to know that she will be equally miserable. But he thinks he can deal with that guilt of ruining her happiness, because the alternative (ruining Ma's happiness) is absolutely unthinkable.

Dev is an escapist. Just by turning Sonakshi out, he feels the matter is settled. He had no right to choose this misery for Sonakshi. He wanted to keep her voice recording, but he is adamant is keeping her out of his life for good. He curtly told Tina to courier her last salary cheque because he didn't want to personally hand it to her. He didn't want to face her again. He didn't want to have to reply to any questions he didn't have the answers to. He will have to relive the fact that he broke all his promises to her. Like she was of no significance to him.

I tried to be Zen about it, but Ishwari fixing a rishta for Sonakshi was the heights of arrogance to me. Who is she to choose who Sonakshi marries?? I can only imagine the kind of righteous anger Sonakshi will feel if she finds out.

Poor Ritwik though. He seems like a nice enough guy, but the fact that he was Ishwari's choice is going to irritate the Bose family badly. Sonakshi didn't tell them her condition for agreeing to the alliance yet. All she said was she trusted her parents to choose the best for her.

What would she feel if she knew it was Ishwari who sent Ritwik's bio her way?

GKB herself feels like scolding Ishwari, for not hastening Dev's marriage. Now that she holds all the cards and rights to choose. But Ishwari is resolutely refusing to get him married.

Now this opens up all sorts of disturbing thoughts. Why would a mother not want her son to settle down happily? It just doesn't fit.

I am not objective in this matter, I must admit. I married one of those sons who are their mother's super obsessions. It was an arranged marriage (he chose and arranged) , and true behaviors were only revealed to me after one year of engagement and marriage. Believe me my first year of marriage was the worst year of my whole life. It ruined my heart so much that every year on my wedding anniversary, I think of how much unpleasantness started with that day.

That's what a mother can do to a daughter in law she didn't choose.

Ishwari in her arrogance and inherent cunning has set in motion a chain of events which will ultimately be her downfall. Her pride that her son needs only her is going to take a severe setback.
The lady who believes so much in God, conveniently forgot that he is up there and her time to pay for her sins has come.

If marriage had earlier taken place and then she would have thrown her tantrums, she would have successfully got Devakshi divorced.

But now Dev knows what it is to live without his love. Thanks to Ishwari he would also soon know what it is like to see her with someone else.

So now when marriage happens, It will not be possible for Ishwari to get rid of Sona just because she is not ready to share her son.

She herself is making Sona as important in her son's life as she is

@bold: 🤗 hope things are really better now.. I totally understand what you are saying.. The power such women hold over their sons and the sons playing like keyed toys to their remote..🥱 I really really hope our women learn to bring up their sons without boosting their male ego.. And the sons too get a very wrong message feeding themselves with it...

I suppose it's a certain kind of woman who becomes this sort of a mother. Some women are chilled out and cool, and they become open and awesome mothers and MILs. Some had a miserable life and become grouchy MILs because the DIL is seen to have a better deal than she did. And women like Ishwari, dependent and emotional types, just don't know how to let go just a little bit.

She has no life of her own. Her whole life is Dev. What Dev is doing, what Dev is eating, what sheets Dev needs, is Dev taking time out to take her shopping, "Dev, do this." "Dev, do that.."

If another woman comes and wants to take some of that share away, what would she do then? Normally, mothers would marry the sons off so she can take care of her grandkids and enjoy them. Because grandparents enjoy our kids more than as parents. But no such motivations here in Ishwari. She is truly a weird puzzle of complicated emotions.

The lady who believes so much in God, conveniently forgot that he is up there and her time to pay for her sins has come.

Disturbing thought no? Actually, it's better off that she made them break off before marriage. And Sonakshi is right to move on. Who would want to marry Dev, knowing his mother is like this?? Yipes. Love and lust is not enough to sustain marriage. We need trust, teamwork and having each other's backs.

But now Dev knows what it is to live without his love. Thanks to Ishwari he would also soon know what it is like to see her with someone else.

I can't help but feel sorry for his situation. He may not have done the break off nicely, but he is suffering. I'm saving the " How can he expect her not to move on" discussion for when the episode actually airs..😆

So now when marriage happens, It will not be possible for Ishwari to get rid of Sona just because she is not ready to share her son.

I hope it works out well like you say. If ishwari's plans backfire and Dev forces Sonakshi upon her as a wife, it's Sona I'm worrying about. 😕
