I thought the makers wanted us to know that Dev is really strong (that's what I understood from the initial episodes. Did I misunderstand?)
But I can't remember a single day when he acted like he was strong.
Mummy ko affair ka pata laga -Started crying.
Mummy ne break up ke liye bola- Started crying & broke up.
Sona ne baat nahi ki- Started crying.
Sona ne dusre ladke ko dekha- Again crying.
Sona ne engagement karli- SUICIDE!

Wow! Such reactions, much wow.

Very strong Dev!

Thank you so much for sharing your POV dear.😊

But i don't think the men who cries are weak. Do only girls have the copyright to cry and express their grief. Why can't men cry? They too gets affected by certain things.

And frankly speaking, a weak man can't break his engagement on the D-Day knowing he'll face a huge loss in his business. And this just for his lady love. To confess his feelings to her and also because he knew, he cannot keep the girl he's getting engaged to happy ever. One need guts to do that.

A weak man is not capable of parting ways with the only happiness of his life. Without whom he cannot even think of his life. Here too, you need to keep yourself strong and part ways. A weak man can never let go of his happiness at any cost. He was strong for his mother here.

And when you cannot see your girl with someone else, you are bearing the pain all alone and you don't have anybody to share your grief, you are bound to breakdown.

For suicide, only the spoiler came. So, lets not talk about it.

And when you don't have anybody to share your feelings, your pain, your grief with, still you are portraying yourself strong infront of others for their well being. You cannot be weak.

It takes a strong individual to put a brave face infront of the world, when you are devastated from inside. And if you cry alone that doesn't make you weak.

This is solely my POV. And according to this, Dev is a strong man.😊

When did crying become a sign of weakness? You are expressing your grief and emotions in a healthy way than bottling it up inside. Once you cry it out your heart will become lighter. Crying is not women's right it is human right.

Very very well said dear.
Cent percent agree.
Broken down into tears is not a sign of weakness.[BR
Women used to cry mich than men, but still it is said that women are more strong emotionally than men. So when we are not weak how come dev.
No one will be able to choose others happiness over own self. But he did it for his mother.
So he is a more stronger. My pov.

Nothing much to add..he has been suffering all alone all his life since he had no one with him to share his problems n griefs..even sleeping pills weren't helping him out of his stress!!
It was only after sona that he was bit relaxed..but now his stress has increased many folds after the unwanted breakup and he is completely shattered! !even then he is not letting his frustration out on anyone n taking all of it on himself! Such a strong character!!!

Crying has nothing to do with gender.
Having said that you either buckle up and do something about your problem or sit and cry all day.

Dev doesn't have the mental fortitude to do the former so he does the latter. Cry and moan about all his problems.
