But i don't think the men who cries are weak. Do only girls have the copyright to cry and express their grief. Why can't men cry? They too gets affected by certain things.

And frankly speaking, a weak man can't break his engagement on the D-Day knowing he'll face a huge loss in his business. And this just for his lady love. To confess his feelings to her and also because he knew, he cannot keep the girl he's getting engaged to happy ever. One need guts to do that.

A weak man is not capable of parting ways with the only happiness of his life. Without whom he cannot even think of his life. Here too, you need to keep yourself strong and part ways. A weak man can never let go of his happiness at any cost. He was strong for his mother here.

And when you cannot see your girl with someone else, you are bearing the pain all alone and you don't have anybody to share your grief, you are bound to breakdown.

For suicide, only the spoiler came. So, lets not talk about it.

And when you don't have anybody to share your feelings, your pain, your grief with, still you are portraying yourself strong infront of others for their well being. You cannot be weak.

It takes a strong individual to put a brave face infront of the world, when you are devastated from inside. And if you cry alone that doesn't make you weak.

This is solely my POV. And according to this, Dev is a strong man.😊

Thanks for the reply.
First of all, my post was totally based on the suicide spoiler because suicide is a grave issue & Dev choosing something like that would be totally out of character. Hence, the question about his strength.

Secondly, I never said that only girls can cry or Dev should stop grieving, MY point is that he is crying about things which can be corrected. There have been episodes in the past where Dev has cried but he made strong decisions before venting out his pain. For e.g.-

When Mamaji's house is burned. He was strong for his family, took them in, made a decision. Later he cried his heart out. That shows he's strong but sensitive.

Neha's wedding when he fulfilled all his responsibilities but later cried remembering his sister.

And lots of other instances.

But nowadays he doesn't act, he doesn't make decisions, he just cries about it. That was my point.

First of all, I won't say just because he cries, he is weak..
Secondly, his character is EXTREMELY weak and spineless.. He has the habit of pressuring people to dance on his tunes if required (how he bullied Sona to accept his job), has the habit of showing physical violence to win an argument (how he threw Sona's phone), has manipulative attitude who goes behind people's back to get his job done (how he ran into Sona's possible alliance fixed by her family and drove him away).. The only thing he has done in a straight-forward manner is breaking off with Natasha which is great.. But I can't give him score for that since it was not related to his family hence it wasn't a challenge to his strength/weakness at all !

A person who resorts to all kind of negative things to get what he wants, is not a strong person.. If and when Dev is subjected to go through a difficult route, he resorts to escapism.. And moreover, if things are slightly out of his control, he harms himself.. That's emotional blackmailing.. Again a very weak trait of character.. Easy is to be attracted to dark sides of our emotions in difficult situations, difficult is to find the right path and stick to it barring all external factors (irrespective of family, friend or whatever).. Following Dharma is the BIGGEST strength of character, and when Dharma becomes subjective to relationships/situations/emotions, it weakens the character and deviates a person from following it truly as well.. And anyone who don't have the strength to follow Dharma (in simple words, what should be done), is weak IMO.. Whining or not whining, crying or no crying doesn't mean anything.. If a person cries 1000 tears out of pain and still follow the right, becomes righteous and strong.. A person who surrenders to a situation and does wrong to anyone for whatever reason, is weak..

Very well said. Half the forum members add 2 and 2 and arrive at 10. They just look at the words boy , cry, bad and jump to conclusions without trying to understand the point.

Like you said, it's not about crying per se. It's about only crying and doing nothing about it.
