This post is obviously not in favour for Suman. Therefore, those who worship her whole heartedly, it's a kind request, please ignore my post. 😊

Suman Tiwari is THE worst female protagonist I've ever seen, thus far, in Indian Television.
How can someone behave in such a selfish manner? And she is taking all conscious decisions. It's not like she has been intoxicated or something. Nothing is placing an influence on her decision. She was merely asked to stay away from Shravan's life as his "partner". That day she was on the floor in PCT crying about "khokli dosti". If she cared about this friendship, why did she hurt Shravan so much? She could've maintained her so called genuine friendship. Friendship doesn't denote love automatically. If she had self control, she could've remained as friends. Atop all this, she is aware about Ramnath's deeds. Shravan doesn't know ANYTHING! How the hell is she not able to see his frustration? His anger? Most importantly, his PAIN? She is aware that he is under the illusion that his father is an innocent man. Gosh! Still she chooses to accuse him!
She really should've told nanu that she loves Shravan, like she told preeti and made her feel guilty. Nanu would've surely done something. Makes me wonder if her love for Shravan was true or not? How easy was it for her to decide and forget him? If one truly loves someone or considers them his/her true friend, it's not so easy to move on. Also, she easily allowed Aditya to close the doors behind her in the room? She couldn't have objected his actions? If she really hated him, she would've opposed and asked him to speak in front of everyone. Rolling one's eyes, doesn't prove opposition or hatred. One needs to speak up! Just like she speaks up to Shravan and pierces him with her words, she should've done the same with Aditya. All this simply illustrates that she was indeed a sly and selfish "friend". She used Shravan based on her convenience and then literally threw him out of her life when she found a new "bakra". Shravan was correct! He judged her really well.
In addition, I don't understand why she has to keep everything within herself and play the card of being the world's biggest abla nari. She can at least tell Aditya the truth! Why can't she tell him that she doesn't love him? I won't even blame Aditya here because he doesn't know ANYTHING either. He is just a happy-go-lucky guy. She is playing with his feelings too. She will end up crushing Aditya's heart in the near future. Jahan bhi jaati hai, uss ladke ko use karke return aati hai. What a girl! What an incredible personality she carries! Her inner beauty, used to make her appear beautiful, once upon a time. Abh woh bhi disappeared ho gayi.
I can't even force myself to sympathize with such a girl. I want Shravan to simply think about himself now. He shouldn't even bother about this girl. She shouldn't exist for him. I want Ramnath to find a decent and a sophisticated girl for him, someone who is worthy of Shravan's love and affection.

I'm not a fan of Suman...I fell in love with Shraman...as much as Shravan's agony is painful I certainly dont find her sly.
She does not know the guy actually loves her even today..>She believes it but he has never told her that...

You know when u are in pain...its not easy to see other's pain. Thats what they both are going through.

He is a lawyer ...is he able to see that there might be a reason for her changed behavior after she was the one who initiated the coffeee shop outing and requested him to do so?

If we are able to understand that he is in pain and not able to see things...why not her pain?

I have not been watching recently so I cannot speak to your specific points.
But I wonder why Sumo is held responsible for the actions of Aditya? She seems to not be encouraging him from what I read, except to accept him as a friend, but because he has romantic intentions towards her, it is her fault that Shravan is hurt.

She accepts the new clothes because he says he knows the owner. Suddenly she is a hypocrite for accepting a $$ outfit from Aditya instead of a $$$$$ diamond engagement ring from Shravan.

She accepts Aditya's help with PCT because he tells her there are investors, not Ramnath. But again she is seen as hypocritical for not accepting help from the Malhotras, which she has good reason not to.

This is not to say she has not acted inconsistently or selfishly at times...these two are both kids despite the responsibility put on their shoulders by their respective families (and the writers are fickle).

But it seems to me that female characters get the brunt of the blame when they are being pursued by secondary characters.

I actually used to love Suman before. I believed that she was illustrating the qualities of a strong and determined female. However, that began to fade. All I see now is an abundance of selfishness.
Regarding Shravan's confession, do you think a guy would go confess after he has been insulted by the girl he admires and loves, repeatedly? After a certain point, he will give up. Shravan had a lot of patience because he waited so long to blast. I assumed his limits would've overflowed long back. But he gave her time.
From what I recall, Shravan did ask Suman the reason behind her sudden change in behaviour. She brushed him off and left. At every instant, she was nothing but harsh. Everyone has their limits. Shravan also has his respect, only Suman doesn't carry a factory of self respect around.
I'm sorry, I cannot sympathize with her. I've never seen a girl like her before. I don't see her pain because she had alternatives that she could've used. But she wants to be the typical abla nari. So her choice! She is coming out looking like a fool.

It's not sumos fault but Cvs. This will go down in the history of Indian tv as biggest character inconsistency. The way sumo started off she definitely was the best FL ever in tv . She was a little shallow compared to Shravan when it came to love but she would have never hurt Shravan like this. Creative liberty naam pe kuch bhi aivayein chal raha hai. Cvs have messed up sumos character the most.

Aditya is a friend she barely even remembered. And Shravan is a friend whom she waited for, waited 10 years for him.
I remember watching an episode where Suman went into pushkar's room to give him sweets. Aditya came in as well and as soon as he saw Suman, he was about to leave. But Suman stopped him and thanked him for his help. She even said that she isn't angry at him for helping. Aditya was relieved upon hearing all this. Who was proven wrong here? Shravan! He told Aditya that Suman hates it when people help her. And isn't that true? Anyway, I'll come back to this point.

Suman constantly chants her self respect mantra in front of Shravan 24/7. Due to her so called respect, she didn't buy the ring with his help. She didn't accept the discount on the five-star hotel hall for sangeet. She always chose to insult him whenever and wherever. A girl who displays so much of concern for her self respect, you would think she would maintain it everywhere.
When the time came, she accepted Aditya's "fake" discount and bought the outfit. An outfit that was apparently expensive. Way more expensive than the engagement ring. At that moment in time, she wasn't aware about the "fake" discount. When she learned about it, one would think, keeping her character in mind, that she would return the outfit. But no! She wore it. Where did her samaan disappear then?

In addition, she told Shravan she won't accept anyone's help for PCT. After this, she goes and accepts Aditya's help. She knew he lied before. So before blindly taking the papers, she should've made sure he was speaking the truth. I mean a person who can lie once, can lie anytime again.
Also, she assumed that Shravan gave Aditya the papers and she was happy! Then why didn't she just accept the papers from Shravan? At least he wouldn't shatter like this by her betrayal. This leads into my incomplete point that was stated above. In this whole situation of PCT, who was proven wrong in front of Aditya again? Shravan! And Aditya went to an extent of even rubbing it on Shravan's face. He told Shravan that he is a little more special than Shravan for Suman. Suman's activities actually lead him on. And now he is on cloud 9. When Suman hates something Shravan does, she starts screeching. Why can't she do the same with Aditya? She hates him too. So why doesn't she oppose his gestures with the same intensity?

It's these inconsistencies that are making her appear as the most selfish person ever. And that is why many of us aren't able to sympathize with her. She isn't who she used to be.

You're correct! It's never the characters on their own. The writers are awful in this soap. I don't understand how they can create and butcher characters in this manner! Don't they read what they write? Don't they have editors? And are the editors equally obtuse in nature? Seriously confuses me and all these inconsistencies drive me insane.

I agree! This is not the Suman who we saw initially, when the show began. Now she is actually worse than a bechari because her bechari-ness doesn't even fall into place, keeping the story in mind. I mean she could've done so many other things. And omg yes! She didn't even talk to Shravan after that incident.😲 I didn't even notice that. So it was actually very easy for her to forget him? Woah! I thought before saying yes to Aditya, she would go and lay down every scenario in front of Shravan. At least he would be aware of something. But lol...kuch aur hi ho gaya. Itni buri tarah se toh Pushkar ka character bhi butcher nahi hua tha.

Agree with you for the most part, expect that sumo is sly. I think of her as being highly self centered. Her character is poorly conceived and all over the place. I love Shraman together but it's hard for me to root for sumo's character to be with shravan. Shravan is flawed but there is a consistency in his character.
Preeti is also pretty self centered , but there is not much disappointment when she behaves the way she does. I don't want a perfect FL , but Its hard to see one that continues being selfish. I hope the CV's have a big redemption planned . I would hate for shravan to look beyond everything and unite with Suman without addressing all these issues .
