May be its just me who feels this way but the cvs of this show appear so anti-women to me. Somehow they show Sumo(their female lead) to be their best character but actually the way they portray women, its so shallow.

Lets start with Masi and Mami - Okay they are plain selfish. They have always used Sumo as a money making machine and even a dying elder whose their FIL/Father seems like a burden/ill-omen to them.

Then Kamini - She is a mean selfish and rude woman. She can insult anyone, anywhere for her so called class and always looks for occasions where she can get benefit for herself/her immediate family even if causes the other person any sort of harm/hurt.

Vandy - A bimbo, who doesnt even come to know when she is getting insulted by others in the name of fun.

Preeti - She is the biggest weakling. She has no qualms letting the whole burden of her marriage expense go on her sisters shoulders who herself is struggling with her business these days.

Nirmala - Least said the better.

And last but not the least, Sumo - Well she started off as a brilliant character but continuous character assassination spoiled her too. Her self-respect is so vague that audiences no longer understand what this word even means.

Now coming to the MEN,

Nanu - Well he is the godfather of the show, Mr. know it all. He definitely can never be wrong, atleast as the cvs portray. But no one even questioned that why he could not give some good values to his son/daughter. In spiteof making Sumo forcefully get married he could have made his son promise that he wont leave SUmo alone in case he dies.

Mamaji - The one who never says anything wrong. (Read never even says anything right)

Ramnath - Well what to even say. Even though he slapped his wife once and has been lying to his son about his mother since 10 years, but still somehow comes out as a better parent of the two for Shravan. He still seems more concerned about Shravan than Nirmala.

Lalaji - Well he is the wisest of them all,atleast thats what the cvs wish to show. So what if he jokes about the women of the house so casually and so often...no one minds it...afterall joking about women's cooking skills or their sense of humor is the coolest thing to do...But as soon as you reach outside home he loses both his balls and his voice.

Pushkar - This guy again a near perfectionist in progress...He is sweet, loving and a typical mumma's boy. Ofcourse thats how perfect men are.

Aditya - Even despite of his vulturous vision for women's bare backs and waists he is well just a harmless flirt, how can ANY guy who wishes to settle a girl be bad..right cvs??

And ofcourse our very own Mr. Malhotra - No doubts he is the epitome of perfection and unconditional love. Honestly I am yet to encounter a live example of a man who is even 10% as sincere and committed as him.

+++

Seeing all these examples I really feel do CVs of this show actually respect women or think men and women are equals. I seriously doubt. Sadly their characterization speaks volumes about their misogyny.
